I had a Stebel air horn installed some time ago by a 3rd party mechanic. He put it in the right side pod. I'm wondering where the original horn was mounted? It's been so long I don't remember. Looks like right side engine guard bolt? Also, how did the original wiring route? I want to put a second horn on and want to make sure I use proper routing of the wires so I don't melt them on the engine.

Location is low on the right front of the engine. I mounted a Stebel at the original location. The original horn did not use a relay. If you use a powerful horn, mount a relay in the right pod. Use the original horn wiring to activate the relay coil.

Actually, I want to keep it out in the open. The current one is muted a little being buried in the pod.

I just made a small rt angle bracket out of aluminum and mounted my Stebel off of the same bolt in the original horn location. It looks ok to me and it's plenty loud out in the open. I've had it there almost 3 yrs with no issues.

I used the original horn button wiring to activate a relay-as has been previously suggested. That's good advice you should heed.

Thanks all for the replies. Can anyone provide picture/description of the original wiring routing? The guy that did my Stebel routed everything to the pod. I'm guessing the original route was behind the timing case? I don't want to route incorrectly due to the heat of the motor.
