I bought a ClearView windshield 4 years ago, have never regretted doing so.

They do have OEM sizes, I opted for a couple more inches taller.  Also mine is a couple inches wider on both sides.  The later helps out during winter rides.

+1 on the Clearview... I just replaced my solid black "sport" model with a tinted "sport" model.  I think I am really gonna like seeing the ground in front of the tire...  Smiley

If you want durable, it's hard to beat F4 Customs. They have a super hard coating that makes them scratch resistant (NOT scratch proof, though). You can actually use the gas station squeegee on them. They've got stock and other sizes. No affiliation, YMMV, etc.

+1 for F4 Customs. Can be cleaned with Windex and paper towels. Cost more than ClearView but I have been very pleased. My brother has a ClearView on his standard and he likes his but it does scratch easier.

Hay Guys  thanks  for shinning a lil light on this topic it seems that clearview and K4 are the hot replacements to go with, has any one had both and had a preference to  one or the other ? Also I ran across  here and on a Goldwing  page that guys use a 50/50 mix of distilled H20 and Hydrogen Peroxide to clean there windshields and then use  like pledge. Well I tryed the  50/50 mix and holy chit  My Freakin windshield looks fookin awsome ,now I can probaby wait till next season but I still would like to hear more about K4 and clearview and if any one has a preference and why  thanks guys. coolsmiley

I have had a Clearview on my VTX when the stock one cracked on me... it was a great shield and I would get one again on that type of bike or shield frame.  However, for the Interstate, I have the Show Chrome 20-510 GL1500 C F CF large clear that is available on Ebay    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-Valkyrie-GL1500CF-Interstate-Touring-Windshield-C-/140951242121?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20d1594589&vxp=mtr

Someone locally (saw/met him at a Bike Night a year or so ago) got an F4 Customs windshield (he said) for his Interstate and it had some Optics issues (blurs in the sight line) and the cut edge was kind of rough as well IMO.  I think they sent him a replacement as well and it had some issues to from what I recall.  Not sure what the final outcome of the second shield was as I have not seen the guy/bike this year so not sure if he still has the bike,  or what.

But for an Interstate I don't think you can beat the Show Chrome shield for price and durability.... mine has been on for over 6 years and cleans very well with whatever I use; although I would NEVER use the Gas Station squeegee or their hard paper towels.  I always have a microfiber cloth available. Or a decent rag of some sort.

When I bought the phat gurl she had a Clearview windshield on her that was all scratched up. It looked like the PO used steel wool to clean it. I put a F4 Customs on it in Feb. or March and am very happy with it so far.  The fit and finish were excellent.

Maldog I got my F4 Customs with stock height but two inches wider to keep some of the rain off. I'm 6' 1" and the stock height is about 1/2" below my line of sight. I like it.

+1  I run the taller / wider model as I like a look through model. But a look through shield is not for everyone.

Tulsa also. They are thicket than stock work good. They have the fairing wind deflectors very reasonable, can't remember how much off hand , but seemed like a great price,, goggle them, and give em call.. coolsmiley

True, there may be some Ok aftermarket replacement windshields available.....

BUT,

You cannot get anything better than the OEM windshield,

And Honda does offer a 2" taller version than stock height.

When you compare a stock OEM windshield to an aftermarket version the difference is easily recognized.

I talking INTERSTATE windshield here. No others.

I've ran the show chrome one for years. Mine is 2" taller than stock and 4" wider on each side than stock. Works really well for cold weather riding.
