i have bought a 99 IS and while riding i am smelling gas fumes, i see nothing leaking so i am in need of ideas to check thanks for the help.

My Standard does too on occasion.  I just assume it is unburned fuel going through the exhaust system.  After all there is no catalytic converter on these things.

I occasionally have the same thing.

Some have added an "O"-ring to the

filler cap and others have redone the gasket.

Whatever

It doesn't bother me so I just leave it alone.

Check the intake O rings.  I solved a gas smell when parked by changing these

i have had my standard since 01 and it never has done that, fuel cap seal is what i was thinking as well but i just not wanting toover look anything.

As an old gear head smelling gasoline burning rubber hot metal fried clutch and brake lining burned menthanol fresh paint new wax old leather WHAT wuz the question??  2funny RIDE SAFE.
