« on: July 08, 2009, 03:11:39 PM »

I took off early yesterday morning ( tuesday ) to hook-up with Normandog for a peg draggin' ride into the north Georgia mountains.Weather was beautiful and they claimed it would be great both yesterday and today   Undecided  .We did a pretty good job stayin' dry yesterday evening it seemed we was always just behind the rain.

Picture taken in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Good lookin' trike we saw this morning when we was runnin' from a frog choker and hit this place to get the rain gear on...The whole area was under a flash flood warning this morning . Ron and I got to polish up on our wet weather skills and at times we had to ford our way through the standing water on the road  ???  . It was pourin' when we pulled back on the road. If anyone might be interested in the trike I have a few more pic's. Its a 1998 with 40,000 miles and they are asking $14,000 for it.

Ron and I split off in Robbinsville , NC this evening and I headed through The Dragon to get home. By the time I made Deals Gap the rain had stopped. A lady rider was killed yesterday on The Dragon when she lost her bike in a curve and hit a tree  Sad

I was amazed the law was'nt everywhere but I made 4 runs at it and never saw the first one. Traffic was next to nothing and I had a ball  Cool

It's a sad sight to see folks with a beautiful machine like the Valkyrie and its got years of curd caked on it. If the bikes nasty I don't even waste my time lookin' at it . All that tells me is the bike is not taken care of if they are to lazy to wash it I'm sure they won't take the time to do the maintence on it  Sad .I'm not talking about " road trip " nasty I'm talking about neglect ( black funky rims ,rusted exhaust and parts etc. ). A person can give a Valk a half-a$$ decent clean-up in 30 minutes .

mid 60's.....back in 1970..the year I was born...I thought you'd seen the Gorge before Joe?.....I often times stop in there at the Overlook store on the Old 441 road section and have a coke and ice cream while looking down into the Gorge and listening to the water...
