I have been reading old posts about this and how it can help with the wining a bit as well as overall performance.  My question is when you change to synthetic oil do you have to do anything special when changing??  Never used synthetic oil before and it looks like a good thing to change to for to. Also is there any information on best filter to use?
Thanks

Synthetic oil doesn't have any special requirement of oil filters; just do a search to get opinions previously posted here, then ignore them and buy your favourite brand. There is no special procedure when changing to synthetic; change your oil just as if you were putting in the same oil you had before. I use Mobil 1 15W50 and Fram filters. Others will tell you to avoid Fram because of ___, but I'm not worried.

When switching, there's no need to flush the system; just change it. Check this site and read about the type 5 filters (Honda). Then decide for yourself which filter to use. I use a Purolator Pure One. PL14610 (longer than stock) or PL14612 (stock length).

There are are benefits to switch to synthetic oil. First - longer intervals between oil changes.
Second - some users, including me, observe less internal noises, transmission whining, etc
Many of us use Mobil 1 15-50, which is almost always available and often available at a discount.
I have been using Mobile 1 15-50 for many years in all my cars and my Bike Every 5k miles.
As to the filter I use whatever brand is available. Hope this helps.

As with any oil, just be certain that is doesn't say "Energy Conserving" of similar verbage. That is not clutch friendly. Generally, when looking at the circle on the container that has all the mish-mash of letters re. meeting requirements, if it has nothing in the bottom half of the circle you are safe.
