I believe ten full (360*) turns down reveals 10 threads. (tiny and hard to see/count)
They have great tech support.

I am curious how those with 440s have them adjusted. I have them for over a year and really like them. at installation I turned them up one notch and have left them there. may have bottomed on on pothole or such, but they seem fine where they are. 215 lb almost 99% 1 up.
are there some of you that have them set very stiff? why, 2 riders, etc. why do so for you single riders?

I have the 11.5" 440s. I don't think they are hd springs. I have them set with no notches showing to begin. I bottomed out when riding two up. I turned them to reveal 2 notches. No problems now....but could probably go a couple more if I rode two up more often. Solo....never a problem.
I'm 6'1" 240
Wife is..... Less : )

I use 440s with the standard springs. I think they are set at about 4 or 5 and ride fine when 2 up and I don't change the adjustment. Alls fine for at least 12 years.

Don, I assume you have standard spring 440s?
My supervalk has the std spring 440 (13), and I have it set to two full turns down (I'm about 200). They were fine for a long time, but seem to bottom more easily on the occasional big bump than they used to, and I need to turn them one or two more (I may be 15lbs heavier than when initially set)..... next time the bags are off.
The full IS has the HD 440 (13), and they have never been off the factory softest setting and that bike never bottoms.... definitely stiffer than the supervalk (but not a hard ride).

I had them on my bike when I bought it. I found them to be very stiff. The 440s I had had the HD spring. I took them off and replaced them with shocks from a Interstate. I found them to be much better for me at the time.
Bike has been sold and is in Norway now shocks and all.

Yes Jess, regular springs. 6'4'' and about 215. I may give them another turn at next tire change (another 2k mi probably) and see if I notice any difference.
I switched out shocks and got and ultimate KBBB about 10-12k miles ago and a HUGE difference after any distance.

I had the 440's on MGM for the last 10 years till last winter. Took them off when we converted it to a Trike.
In all the time those 440 HD springs were never set higher or lower than 2. Rode solo and double quite often, I check in at 255 and SO at about ###, so that was a lot of weight on them. The OEM's were set on 5 and bottomed out at the least bit of a road infraction. With the 440's it never bottomed out.
I shipped them to a buddy of mine who bought a Valk that was totaled. Last I heard he was more than happy with his present and said he just loved the right they gave him.
