and I already have 2 questions.
1. Will my Cobra light bar bump the wings at lock to lock?
2. A friend just upgraded to a polycarbonate because when he tightened them
enough to stay put, they'd break when adjusted, a little looser, wings would
move from the wind. Anyone else have that problem?

Looks like mine will arrive the day before I head out to Frisco, I'll get to practice! cooldude

Thanks

I had to take off the top small segment and tilt the whole thing back a little to make it
work with my fariing. But it *does* work, worth fiddling with...

Before I changed to a Memphis Shades Batwing fairing I had the same setup you are getting anf there were no clearance problems. It came close but did not hit. I have not had any problems keeping the wings tight. Check the chrome ball every week to make sure it is staying tight.

The tightness of the wings is a touchy thing. My Bakers have been on my Valk since day one & 88,000 miles. Over the years I have replaced some of the vanes, both upper & lower. I live about 30 miles from Baker & went directly to the source for the replacement parts. The owner said I was over tightening them which caused cracks around the mounting holes when I adjusted them with my feet while riding. Since he showed me how tight to mount them, I have had NO breakage and they don't move if I don't want them to. I have never had any problem with the chrome balls coming loose either. Just don't get carried away with the wrench & screwdriver and you should be fine. Also, the man at Baker said that adjusting with your feet on the fly wasn't really recommended because you will put uneven pressure on the vanes.

I agree with what six2go says.

I use moms little lid takeroffer to tighten my knobs by HAND.   It seems like in the back of my feeble mind, Mr. Baker &  Company gave me some new thin spring washers once.

I've had my wings since late fall 1997 and only broke 1 vane.   I stumbled and fell into it, still have the scar from it also.

Cobra bar will come close, but no cigar Michael.  They were on there when the kid and I tagged along on your ride at Daytona, & we had en OPEN.

I broke two of the upper shields with bird strikes, fabricated some aluminum plate and polished it, no more broken, and it's shiney!  cooldude hoser

During my ride to Arizona in May my wings lost one of their chrome balls. Stopped at a hardware store and bought a "wing nut"  Smiley
