It's a bit early this month, but yes, the third Thursday is this week.  So, in honor of that, I'll send out the notice surprisingly early (i.e., not the night before):

Tortuga's
Baytown (I-10 and Garth, at the San Jacinto mall)
7:30 PM, Thursday, August 15.

I'll be a little late, as I'll be on the ice coaching kiddie hockey till 7:10, but I'll go hammer down and get over there as quick as I can.

Mark, I'll be  on nights until sunday morning. May try and get there for a short visit if the plant is running smooth that night.

Of course you are.   You can't be seen with Mark anyway.  I should be there if nothing bad happens at work.

Mark and I actually had a chance to see each other Saturday at the BYOM and the world didn't stop or anything ....

It felt strange seeing him after so long.

Hello Houston area owners. I am a relatively new owner of a 99 Tourer. The bike needs a lot of work, but I could not pass it up as I got it in trade for a 91 Camaro I no longer needed. I am now hitting the rebuild hard and heavy and am waiting for the float needles to come in to finish the carb rebuild. All of the needle ends were shot, and would not seat AT ALL but the bike is cosmetically great. I would love to get a PM from you all so that I can keep in contact with you all, as I will have many questions I am sure. I can't wait to hit the road, and ride with you all soon.

Hmmmm.... I am surprised we didn't have some sort of spontaneous combustion event or some other weird stuff happen in that case...  Planets aligned I suppose...

Always glad to have new folks.  Come on out tonight, and meet everyone (well, not Lyn-Del, as she is avoiding me).  I understand you won't be able to ride, but that's fine.  Come on out and talk to us, look over some other Valkyries for comparison, etc.

I am NOT avoiding Rocketman, it just looks that way.  I liked the meetings on Wednesday nights because Thursday is often a class night for me.  Well, meetings are on Thursdays, and I have a Thursday evening class.

Not seeing Rocketman is a fringe benefit ..........

I Shouldn't say that when the message is targeted to someone who doesn't yet know us.  Mark and I have been friends for a long time, just sometimes our paths don't cross.  And he's fun to harrass about it because he gives it right back to me!

We had a pretty good turnout last night.  Glad to see everyone that came out.
I hope those who missed will join us again soon, and specifically chappy5oh, I hope to meet you at a future dinner meeting/wrench party/ride.

Rocketman. PM me the next meeting dates, and I will do my best to make a meeting. JoeValk, and HayHauler came out today, to a motorcycle event I helped the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo put on, and I got to meet them. I look forward to meeting the rest of you guys. Both of them were super nice, and a pleasure to talk to.
