This morning my buddy and fellow chapter member met for breakfast and a ride afterward.
Well wouldn't know it, the state with the highest unemployment rate must not be generating enough highway taxes to maintain some of our rural byways. We rode at least 80 miles, and of those most were riddled with potholes, frost heaves, and general neglegt. We actually found and rode on dirt roads that were better than some of the paved roads we were traveling on.

If you are contemplating coming to MI, please do yourselves a favor and stay away from roads in the Maybee, Ida, Dundee, Milan, and southern Wayne county areas.

We do have nice roads in MI, and I will gladly share my knowledge of those byways with anyone wanting this information. But be wary of our roads in the southeastern part of this state.

The Trucks and Spring Thaws do beat the $#!! out of the MI roads .... BUT, everyone should take the Lake MI circle tour; (be sure to catch M22 near Manistee, take the M22 loop around Leelanau Penninsula, then 31 up through the tunnel of trees & cross village ... "if your willing to go this far, Red, maybe you'll go a little farther" (don't forget the Big Mac bridge & DA U.P.).

PS Momz ... still time to rethink that U.P. run next week!
