Noticed this headed to the market a little while ago. Sounds like she wants to miss a little under 2000 RPM and when I back off the throttle there's a slight backfire from the left exhaust. Wonder if the jets may be dirty or clogged. Over 2000 RPM she scats like she should. I've got a can of Seafoam working in this tank of gas and another to run through it as well.
Any ideas or advice? Thanks!

try the b-12. just went thru this and it really seemed to help. run between 1200 and 2000 rpms to really run thru the slow jets. you can read my carb help in Indiana thread to see how the guys worked me thru this.

Hmmm, I take a B12 tablet every day and it picks me up. Never thought about giving one to the Valk. Actually, I think what you are doing with the Seafoam is a good thing. Just mix a full can with the fuel well and go ride. Try to keep the engine under 2K and force it through the low circuit. Sounds like you're catching the problem in its infancy.

check for air leaks too...split hoses, cracked vacuum caps, loose intake boots, loose header nuts....these can all cause popping on decel.

Berryman's B-12 Chemtool. Really good stuff. Available at Walmart for under $4.00 and all Autozone, Advance Auto and other parts stores. Put 1/2 can in with a full tank and you should see good results very quickly. I swear by it. http://www.berrymanproducts.com/

Yep, after years of using Seafoam in my 2stroke lawn tools, I switched to Berryman's and got a noticeably better, quicker result.

Techron. Your bike is sitting on it's kickstand and leaning left for a month or more at a time. Get a bottle from wallyworld. Pour the whole thing in the tank. Fill tank with regular (as much as you can pack in there). Go for a very long ride (the entire tank full). Keep the bike under 2000 as much as possible to clean out the slow jets. That is....if you can get that much ride time in between rain showers. Come back and tell us how great it worked.

" check for air leaks too...split hoses, cracked vacuum caps, loose intake boots, loose header nuts....these can all cause popping on decel." fuel additives will not fix an air leak , be it intake or exhust

Maybe it's not so much a carburetion but an emotional problem... bikes get lonely after a month in solitary Go for a very long ride (the entire tank full). Keep the bike under 2000 as much as possible to clean out the slow jets.
If it's locked in the garage anyway, why not just open the garage door and let it idle until empty?
