Thanks for posting this, Woody.  This sounds like a great event.  I hope work doesn't prevent me from attending.

I was having some problems figuring out that post, Woody.  So many links to so many things.  This seems simpler:

The time:

Saturday, September 14th. Free Breakfast starts at 8:30am, KSU 10:30am from The MotorCycle Outpost in Westminster, TX .  Group ride to Farmersville (home of Audie Murphy), past the War Memorial on the square, return to Westminster.  The ride is police escorted and approx 48 miles.

The starting point address:

The Motorcycle Outpost
140 Houston Street
Westminster, TX 75409
(about 18 miles north of McKinney off of 121)
(972) 838-8222

Registration page http://bikersforheros.webs.com/registration

On line registration requires no up front money and no paperwork on your arrival.  $5 Burger Special available at Slicks for Lunch.  Bike auction at noon.  Bike show at 12:30pm.  100% of all proceeds goes to help the veterans.

Let's clean up the Valks and win all the show awards.

I'm there, Woody.  I'll even wash the Interstate and change out the Aggie flag for the Stars and Stripes!

That is much clearer and hopefully attracts more involvement. Thanks Mark.  I speak only for myself,
but I know I enjoy and appreciate my motorcycles and riding more when paying forward, giving back and participating in very worthy causes such as this.

Blessings,
Woody

Yep see you in the AM, Mark.  I'd like to say something here about not just always riding for self gratification and the greater good.  Maybe some other time.

Blessings,

Woody

Woody standing guard

9/11 Tribute Bike - this is a blue Indian V-twin built in tribute to those who lost their lives on 9/11.  There were only 6 built and this is the only blue one in the US.

I just liked this t-shirt

I'd guess 500 bikes there.  400 Harleys, 30 Yamahas, 30 Goldwings, 30 Victorys, 7 Indians, 3 Valkyries.

Thanks for the invite, Woody.  Very patriotic, stirring, great route and well planned with the police blocking off so we never stopped. Lots of people waving, taking our pictures, etc.

Had a grand time.

Thanks Mark!!  Wish I could have spent more time with you.  I thought the title of your first photo should have been "two old relics".
Over $15,000 raised with more still coming in.  A great cause.  Bikers are the most generous and kind hearted folks I know.  Although I'm not a big fan of large group rides, these kind of events go along way towards bridging the gap between the "us and them" mentality.  Sometimes I think we should do things for reasons other than our own personal pleasure and satisfaction.
And all the bikers say----Amen.

Blessings,

Woody
