We are doing another wrencher at my house tomorrow if any of you are out and about and free.  Swede is bringing his bike up, and we are going to pull rear end maint, all the DOT 4 fluids, and anything else we see that might need some attention.

Feel free to stop by and BS with us for a while.  Mike has also ordered a mess of parts, and when they come in, he will be back up to get his bike back to road worthy.

Thanks Dalen cooldude for taking the time and effort to help out our members. We are a very blessed group Smiley to have folks like you, Joe, and Dana with tools and shops, open doors and hearts! I for one appreciate all that each of you do and bring to the table. This "family" we are growing here in Kansas is so diverse, in so many areas, seems there is someone that has experience somewhere with almost anything we run into with these bikes, or life. Thanks to everyone who gives of their time to help out with our family, when and however, they can! cooldude That's why we set the bar for everyone else! Cool Kudos to you all!

Guess I kind of hijacked your post Shocked so to get back on track angel I am hoping to be there at least for a bit of it tomorrow, provided the RR cooperates tickedoff

Dalen,

I agree, I like the lights on my Dad's bike. We spent a little time in the dark yesterday. I am going to get some lights like he has if I can figure out what they are.

55watts they will be bright. That is what the driving lights on my Interstate are. Don't really like the looks of mine, but they light up the night! On coming cars hate them, but they see them in the daylight too. $20 is pretty cheap I maybe interested for a couple of uses. I would like to see them on the bike too.

FYI, been doing a little more reading on the lights. Others have purchased the lights at Wally World for ~$15. Others have also warned the lights draw a lot of juice.

55 watts will task your electrical system, I replaced mine with 35 Watt sealed beams.  Must have worked, I'm still using my oem alternator at 121,000 miles.   Wink  Hoser

Well, not to hi jack the light thread  Grin

Larry and John spent most of the day here, and we got quite a bit done today.  I did not get any pics, but it was a good time.

We had a long list that kept growing and growing, but we got it beat down pretty decent.

New rear tire, I forget what tire we put on, but Peerless Tyres had it in stock, and it looked to me like a pretty decent tire. Put in a new valve stem from Jake Wilson, and ballanced it out with some beads.
New rear wheel bearings while we were to that point.

New front and rear brakes as well as all new dot 4 fluids.  Also put in a new air filter.

Tried to hook his 12 volt power outlet to a relay.  However, that did not turn out right.  The relay would not power up.  The plug under the side cover did not power up.  But with any thing in there, the radio would now power up.  So next time, i will dig into that a big further and figure out what is going on there.

We also replaced some missing bolts, cleaned some stuff up and put it back in good order.

Next trip is a front tire, some front bearings, and some wiring take II.

All and all a good day.  It was a long day, and my back is telling me it was a hard day, but it is always fun to hang out with some good guys like these.

His blue lights in his fairing is what i was talking about.  I like the little pod lights, but just the difference of how bright his blue head lights are vs. the white bulbs in the bike you where riding was amazing.  His looked 2 times brighter, and alot clearer.  I dont know if he was running high beams or not, but they were bright.

It was a great day and Dalen did yeomen's work! cooldude How we, um he, coolsmiley got that all done I'll never know. Larry and I did get our hands dirty Shocked, mostly by picking up dirty parts as they were taken off, Cheesy and smearing a little grease around on them. Grin I enjoyed the ride up with Swede and back home, cooldude we even converted him to the Darkside Shocked and cut his piggies! Lips Sealed All in all, a great time! A long day for sure and we may not get welcomed back, but a great day anyway! 2funny
