My first guess would be the switch. Could be a bad bulb too cooldude

I'd pick the starter switch. Wiggle it around (gently) and see if the headlight goes off and on.

Good advice.  I doubt it's the bulb for I replaced it less than 6-7 months ago.  I'll wiggle the starter switch next time I turn the key and see if the headlight comes back to life.

I've had new bulbs go bad the same day they were installed. Don't discount the possibility. I would keep that in mind as I went through the rest of the stuff. Don't forget to check the high/low switch as well cooldude

Why would you consider bulbs? He says headlight comes on after he starts it up

I've had bulbs that broke the filament and would not touch and light up until a bit after power was switched on, or after riding out. Just throwing out possibilities cooldude
