What's that??? We have neither emmisions or safety checks. I reckon it could keep unsafe vehicles off the road? Probably a good source of revenue for the State? It's not free is it?
I lived in Florida for 25 years. Somewhere about 1990 the state inspection system was scrapped. It was a great one at that: They had state run facilities and would even adjust your headlights when needed! They also had rollers that would test the braking of each of the wheels. Well, the story on the street was that the Governor at the time got pissed when he had to wait in line with his RV and vowed to kill the system. The reasoning used was that the state inspection system was never
proven to reduce accidents and save lives.
