Saw a few posts about the scorpion exo-100 half helmet with drop down shield. I was going to buy the HJC for around $60. If the quality and fit of the scorpions are that much better I'd go for the extra $50. Need some users opinions on the subject. Thanks for the input.

It is the best half helmet I ever had.  It is really comfortable, reasonable weight, and quieter than any other, even with the ear/neck curtain removed.  It is also the biggest half I've ever had and sits down lower on your head than others, which keeps it in place, it stays put.....others tend to shift around some, and have to be occasionally adjusted.  No rattling bill like on the ordinary half.  The liner comes out to wash. No buffeting behind the IS fairing/windshield.  The drop down visor is nice and I am using it more than I thought I would.  The mild tint about doubles the sunscreen of my polarized riding glasses (when I raised it up, I thought I was wearing my clear glasses), and above 55 mph it makes for a quieter ride and less wind around the eyes.  It is a little distracting at first when you are seeing your glasses frames, the visor lower edge and the windshield upper edge superimposed, but you forget about it in a few minutes.  Rode Skyline Drive today and it gets buggy in places, and the visor helps with that, even with a shield. For anyone who likes a half helmet most of the time, you can't do better.

You should find a shop that has them and try for size, then order best price on-line.  The size chart would have had me in a L, but XL was best fit for me, and not loose.

Like everything else, whatever floats your boat.  I bought one and after 30 minutes, the foam presses my sunglasses down on my ears too much that they get real sore.  Doesn't fit my head as well.  Maybe I need thin wire frames instead of Wiley X's...

Same problem here, changed sun glasses to thinner frames over the ears and no more problems....  I don't buy expensive sun glasses any more. I have lost too many pairs.

That's the one, Joe, must admit the Z is cheesy, but I really like it, plenty of room for earbuds, and it comes apart for cleanimg.  cooldude Hoser

I know a couple folks that wear that helmet ...I just can't seem to get past the mark of Zorro on the front.

Had no idea about the Z on the front...suppose its not removeable. I think it sounds like I'd better take a look a one before I buy online. Thanks for the input all.

It's not a Z. Scorpian starts with an S. The emblem on the front of the helmet is an S with a Scorpian stinger on each end of it.

Note the difference.....ZZZZZ.....SSSSS

I looked at them when I bought my new one last winter the dealer up the road has that line of helmets along with many others . The chessy lookin' ( S , looks like a Z to me ) in the middle of the helmet is embedded and if you pulled it off it would still leave the mark. I like the helmet and would more than likely bought one cause they are cheaper than the one I bought but as stated above I just could'nt get passed the mark of ZORRO it makes the helmet cheap looking IMO.

We like our Scorpion helmets very much.  And we buy Maxx sunglasses by the dozens .... break 'em or lose 'em seems to be my hobby

I've had the EXO 100 in black matte for a couple of years and like it a lot. The drop down shield is really convenient and easy to change out.  The visor is removable, the liner is easy to remove and hand wash.  The "S" put me off too, and it is embedded, but after I popped it off the indentation isn't nearly as noticable.

My wife has the EXO 100 she really likes it.  Wears headphones (behind the neck loop) comfortably under it.  Fits her head well.  No complaints about buffeting or excessive noise.  Drop down shield is nice and one of the reasons we got it but to me is a little light.  Almost like a all the time shield rather than a sunshield.  Overall a good helmet.
