Bonnie says I have a paypal account

Never knew that   uglystupid2

So you can send donations and I will make sure they get to the right place

If you have a paypal account you do it

log in

click on send money
to
ossvalk@gmail.com
and below click  I am sending money to family or friends and then there is no fee
all the money then goes where you want it to go

that simple

glad I could help

Thanks Bonnie for showing me how   love ya babe

ossvalk@gmail.com

but do me a favor and if you send anything also send me  a PM so I have an independent way of double checking and give me your address and phone #

so step right up and give to Oss's vacation fund

no seriously all the money will go to ALI's benefector as he asks for it and Bruce says send it

WOW!
Thanks for stepping up to the plate, as it seems that quite a few asked for an account they could donate to, so here it is.

I did not want to be setting one up and having the responsibility for it. As I have said before, I really am hoping that the solution will be an easy inexpensive fix.

Thanks all.  Smiley

When you send $$$ like this, it gives the option to attach a message to the transaction and it remains with it.

Oss,

Really nice thing to do, my friend... Not surprising that you would be the one to put things into action, as you are definitely a 'go to guy' and even more definitely a 'git 'er done guy'! I do appreciate all the offers of help from so many folks... Terry is a good-to-the-bone person, and this will ensure he doesn't end up making a substantial 'personal donation' out of his own pocket. Thanks, Oss... for this and even more especially for your friendship...

I gotta say, this 'family' is amazing... I figured my baby was probably headed for the scrap heap after she was stripped for parts... a rather ignoble ending for such a noble lady. But no, fate had other plans... She will live on, and she and I will share many more miles and smiles together... thanks to a bunch of wonderful folks who wouldn't allow that sad ending to happen...

It's great to be a part of such a tale... There is so much bad news in the world and all around us... A glimmer of generosity and goodness in people is so refreshing... It restores ones faith in our all too often disappointing species... I reckon I'm a 'family man', and my 'kin' will just have to put up with me...

Michael K,

Yeah, I plan on hangin' around fer the long haul... Never before met a bunch of folks or participated in an organization where I felt so comfortable... Yep, been a 'family man' ever since I found my 'home'...

Next time you get a hankerin' to come to the southeast, let me know... I got a bunk fer ya... heck I might even fry up some pig parts, bake some biscuits and make some gravy (Pillsbury Grands biscuits, that is)... Been way too long, amigo...

Apparently I am the only one that doesn't know what is going on....  Shocked

I gather that DDT needs some repairs to the Valk(?) I like Bruce and am willing to help, so it would be great if someone could tell the story here. Thanks  Wink

And best of luck Bruce (I hope there wasn't a crash involved.)  Undecided

To summarize the story, which can be found in a couple of long threads on this board:

Bruce was on a trip with a friend and broke down in Alberta.  The bike (ALI) made terrible noises and wouldn't move in any gear.  He had ALI towed to a Calgary dealership, who without spending a lot of Bruce's money diagnosing the problem, told him their best guess was the transmission was the culprit.  By happenstance, Bruce bumped into t-man403 at breakfast in Calgary, whom he told he wanted to sell the Valk as is and buy a bike to ride back on.  T-man403 figured he could help out, and paid Bruce what he wanted.  Bruce bought a VTX which got him home.

T-man403 doesn't really need another Valkyrie, so he was planning to either fix it and sell it, or part it out if it couldn't be easily repaired.  Then the story got out on a Volusia forum that t-man403 frequents, and also the VRCC message board.  Many people thought Bruce and ALI belonged together, and figured it would be a good thing to have everyone willing contribute to getting ALI fixed up so t-man403 could sell it back to Bruce without too much extra cost to Bruce.  T-man403 warmed to the idea and will spend the winter getting ALI ship-shape as he has the time, possibly involving those interested somehow involved in ALI's trip home.

OSS is coordinating Paypal donations to cover the cost of parts, and I and a Volusia owner who is a professional mechanic have volunteered our help getting ALI up-to-snuff.  T-man403 has done some disassembling and found the problem to be the spline connection between the drive shaft and the pinion cup.  The dealer has generously supplied those parts for free.  T-man403 is very busy with work, so we patiently wait for the next chapter of the story, which will happen at his pleasure.  Bruce is happy to hear he will be reunited with ALI eventually.

Any of those involved are free to correct or expand on anything I've written above.

Here is what is going on and you'll need about 15 minutes to read the the whole thread including the two links in the first post. Reading those links are important to the story.

I did however find the bill you put in there

Thanks for thinking of DDT and ALI. I will bring it to the meet whenever it is.

Perhaps this will turn into a presentation at Inzane if all the stars align between now and then
