I have done this maint. on my Std.  It was pretty easy.  I need to do this on the I/S cause yesterday it acted up on me and this Thursday I head out for Michigan and I don't need trouble away from home.

I can't get the two halves of the switch housing apart.  Do I need to slip the throttle housing off the bar?  I know I didn't have to do that on the Std.

It should be the same as the Standard.  Did you try prying on them?  It could be stuck together with bug juice.  You won't be able to take the throttle off until you have opened the housing.  Two screws...away from the throttle sleeve and it should come apart.

Your I/S switch is different from your Std.

Do a search on this forum for the link or links where this was discussed about 3 weeks ago.

Seems someone had a picture of it in their post.
