Can anyone recommend a quality OEM w/s replacement for a 99 Tourer? I've heard good things in regards to the Clearview brand, any advice or opinions appreciated. I also noticed that the Clearview manufacturer offers vents and a tint option - any one have experience with these options? Or is it better to just open the wallet and buy an OEM w/s from Honda? Thanks!

Clearview or Cee Bailelys are the two that come to mind. I prefer Clearview. They are thicker, and made from a different material with no coating like the OEM. Just be prepared to wait a little while for a clearview. I waited almost 8 weeks last year for delivery.

Well worth the money.

I replaced my OEM windscreen with a Clearview that was 1" higher than stock, tinted light gray, and included the optional wind vent. Compared to the Hondaline, it's a much heavier, stiffer, and more substantial shield. The light gray tint is almost imperceptible when riding; however, it makes the bike look a lot better, IMHO. The wind vent is nice and does make a difference - just don't expect it to feel like AC sitting atop the Valk. It's my understanding that the manufacturing process for these shields is quite laborious - and the resulting wait is due, in part, to the high quality standards the company maintains. If your shield has even the smallest blemish, they either discount it or scrap it. The wait sucks, but I appreciate their attention to detail where my money is concerned. I can't comment on the Cee Baileys, but I'd definitely take a Clearview over the OEM. Terry

Clearview and C-Baily are the same thickness. The clearview does not go under the headlight like the OEM The C-Baily does go under the headlight just like the OEM. http://www.ceebaileys.com/honda/valkyriews.html |

I went with Clearview three or four years ago. Could not be more satisfied. I opted for 4 inches shorter so I could look over the top of it, with smoke tint. The tint is barely noticeable, to me anyway. It was more of a cosmetic thing to go with the black bike. I had a vent on a previous bike's windshield. I really liked the added air on a hot day. I don't have the vent on the Clearview, but think it's worth considering. Ymmv,

It doesn't look like these guys make one for the Tourer, but I saw them at InZane 8 and again at the wing ding and there stuff is really nice. I recommend clearview. I have an interstate and love the shield. The folks their are great people. I am planning on stopping to say thank you and check out their place in Pine, Co. Looks like a fun road to ride as well.

There's an OEM shield for sale at my local dealer for $399 if anyone is interested. I plan to cut mine down 2-3", I hate looking through it in the rain and at night.

+1 for the F4. I've got one on my I/S and my Goldwing. Last I heard, they were working on one for the Tourer to use the stock hardware. Definitely worth a call or e-mail to see if they're getting close to production. |

Hey Mike I agree! My old OEM was trashed, could't see through it. So I cut 4.5 inches off it, sounds like alot. I couldn't believe how much more I like it shorter. I can easily see over it, no more glare, distortion. No more fogging in early morning or evening. I feel I have the same wind protection, It goes right over my head, with no more buffeting. I found my sweet spot. My next Clearview will be ordered this size |
