I Like Barbie and Ken, They have everything!

Had a great time riding the Blue Ridge Parkway, Deals Gap, and all the curves, and switch backs that are there to enjoy.  Had a full ten days to play and ride.  The Valk is so well balanced and just a dream of a bike.  Nothing compares to it.  Posting pic's later on.

Glad you guys had a safe and wonderful trip. There is so much great riding up there to be sure. The BRP has to be one of the premier bike riding roads anywhere.  My wife and I are heading up there the third week of October to do some riding ourselves. We are going to the Maggie Valley area, which Terry & Iris just got back from there a short while ago. I have done 2 "end-to-ender's" on the BRP over the years, albeit on my Goldwing.  The Valkyrie is just made to do that type of riding if your into some easy cruising, which is how I ride up there. I'm that slow guy in front of you that you wish would hurry up..because I'm enjoying the scenery..but will soon pull over into an overlook and let you pass and give you a polite wave as you roar by..while I ignore your rude middle finger gesture!!  Grin Can't wait to see your pictures. The weather was Great. It was in the 50's in the mornings and up to the mid 80's in the afternoon. We rode through the Smoky Mountain State Park from Townsend to Gatlinburg. We also rode over to Maggie Valley to  the Wheels Thru Time Museum via Clingman's Dome, and Cherokee. Sherrie finally got to ride Deals Gap on a Valkyrie, the first time she rode it was on her Shadow 1100, and she said it felt better riding all of those curves on a Valkyrie. We had a great time and got to see a lot of Hot Rods and Kool cars.

Who was up there with y'all Bert. I recognize the Interstate with the bag vents, saw that bike at the Lake Harris ride in. I'm going to do the Dragon again even though I swore I never would. I almost got killed last time getting passed by 2 sport bikes passing me INSIDE the yellow line in my lane.

Sherrie and I trailered our bikes up and Frank ,Greg, and Sandy trailered their two bikes up. We got lots of riding in while we were there. We all Rode through the Cherokee National Park ,went to Maggie Valley to the Wheels Thru Time Museum, via Cherokee and Clingman's Dome. After Frank, Greg, and Sandy left for home Sherrie and I rode Deals Gap and The Foothills Parkway. While we were at Deals Gap we done a little Hog Hunting, though it was a small Hog we got a few Pic's.
This is the Hog I'm referring to.
The Rider of this one rode off in the Ambulance with a Broken Ankle.

Just before the Hog Hunt we saw this Victory Vision being Drug back to the top and loaded up for its trip to the Scrap Yard. This rider did not appear to be injured.

Hey Jeff, As far as Sport Bikes Racing up & Down Deals gap, there are several Tennessee Hiway Patrol Officers Stationed there to keep them calm or paying the Piper. We always try to ride on a week day to avoid the Anxious Weekend Warriors and have not had a problem.

Great pics, thanks for sharing.

I usually try and hit the Dragon on a weekday and early, say 9 or 10, no problems and everyone seems to behave.
Did not see any troopers this year, maybe it was too early for them as well  Grin

They even have a few Paved Areas for them to sit and clock you as you enter the curves, so watch your speed. It is posted 30 MPH and strictly enforced  around there lately.

Well, may have to give it another shot. It is a fun ride. We are there all week so a weekday is no problem. The wife is out for that ride she tells me, she was with me on the near crash. I talked to a trooper after that problem at Deals Gap. He told me he almost never rides it any more due to the sport bikes and the number of crashes has risen quite a bit. Sad to see all those bikes being hauled away because they over did the ride. Maybe that's why there is a larger Police presence now. Thanks for the update Bert.
