Hello Everyone:

I have found a very nice Cobra Light Bar (thanks Woody)  for my 98 Valk tour.  So I started to eyeball the installation and pulled my first turn signal off of the fork and a couple of things have me scratching my head.  First it seems that the wire for the turn signals lights are barley long enough, i am concerned that they are not long enough in fact to run thru the light bar.  Also the metal clamp bracket that holds the turn signals to the forks, that the wiring runs thru has to be removed but how do you get the wiring out of it without cutting it???  I called Cobra yesterday and they emailed me the proper instructions for installation of the light bar, but it doesn't mention this.  So I was wondering if anyone remembers when they installed their Cobra Light bar and how you handled this.  I haven't even got to the wiring part as I am confused on how to do this properly without cutting wires and making them longer.  Any and all insight into this matter is much appreciated.
Thanks

First of all...there are two Cobra light bar systems.  One for early model (two exterior screw lenses) and one for the later model one underneath screw.  Also you need adapters (may or may not be included if that was not a new in the package kit.  The adapters allow you to mount the light housing underneath the wings of the cobra system.  Im pretty sure the stock wiring will just fit fine, it is a PITA to get it zip tied underneath the bars, put keep at it you will get there

As far as the wiring goes, you need to remove the headlight from the bucket. Then unplug the turn signal wires from the harness. You can then pull them out and remove them from the signal mounting bracket. You shouldn't have to cut and splice them they should be long enough to reconnect once you mount the signals to the light bar.

Thanks for all of the help.  I will remove the headlight tonight and unplug the lights and re-route them.  Then it is off to wiring.  How did you wire your lights.  I was just planning on running a new power with fuse from the battery.  I see that some people install a relay ....  Thoughts....

Thanks again.

I used my OEM blinkers by installing a spacer with a groove cut into it so the wires didn't get pinched also some of the early model light bars the curved style that fork mount came with a set of blinkers in the package and some didn't I have a set if you want a picture to see what they look like

Last night I was able to get the light bar installed and it looks great.  I really appreciate all the input it helped a lot.  Now I am off to find a relay and wire this up.

Thanks again
