Yesterday my mom and dad e-forwarded me a link to a Craigslist. A guy near them (usually us) is trying to get rid of a train display table. Sounds neat. Mom thought I'd want it. Perhaps. She said they'd pick it up if I wanted it and hold it until I cam home.

SO....
I emailed the guy something to the effect of,

Quote
I am interested in your train table. I would like a few more details. I am currently out of the state studying, but I can send someone by to pick it up and hold it for me until I return.

Only after I sent a version of that email did it occur to me that he may never respond because I sound like a scam.

On the bright side of life, apparently that does really happen that legitimate people want your stuff and are willing to send friends and loved ones to pick it up.  Who knew!

At least you weren't sending a cashiers check for $5,000 extra for him to send back to you the difference.  cooldude

hmmm....nah probably wouldn't work. Somehow I'd be the one to lose in that proposition. I'd probably accidently send a real cashiers check and wipe out my bank account accidently.
nah, I'm not smart enough for those kind of games.
It is funny how much of a scam my honest response already sounds. As I predicted he still hasn't replied.
