Hey Valkers, Don't have the wife on back very often, but last weekend she climbed on for a 90 mile breakfast and wow, I thought we were going to bottom out! Is this normal? Does the rear end of the bike sink alot with two riders? Don,t know what she weights, maybe 150 pounds, I weight 200. Wondered if rear springs are tired? What is your thinking ?  2000 IS  Thanks everyone.  Firefighter

Have you adjusted the shocks? I run mine on 5 when your 2 up and loaded, wel i actually run them on 5 all the time now. Yes i do think the springs could be getting weak, i have noticed mine are not as stiff as they once were.

It is probably time for some Progressive 444s or some Works Performance shocks (five or six hundred bucks...)...

If you don't have an Interstate, or have a high-mileage Interstate, some people have good luck
with low-mileage Interstate shocks...

With that weight I don't think it should be bottoming set on 5.  Sounds like it time for some new shockers. If you have a STD or Tour [ you didn't say what you had] then maybe IS shocks would help, or, a set of aftermarkets such as Progressive 440s.

It is a 2000 Interstate with about 45,000 miles. Really sinks when the spouse climbed on. Knowing me, I will probably investigate shocks and buy some new ones. The 440's are the way to go? Thanks     Firefighter
