We went to the motorcycle show yesterday, as advertised.  We saw four other Valkyrie riders there.  Had a lot of fun sitting on bikes we would never buy, and a few we might one day.  Saw Honda's new crossover bike.  The did a great job with making it a cross between multiple styles.  Some people thought it looked like a cruiser.  Some people thought it looked like a sportbike.  Some people thought it looked like a scooter.  The only consensus I heard was that it was kinda funky looking.  Not in a good way.
The most disappointing thing was that there were no local dealerships represented.  Not one.  There was only a single dealership there, local or otherwise:  Al Lamb's Honda.  Yes, that Al Lamb's.  I thought that was amusing, and went over to say hi.  They had some good deals, with 25% off everything.
I think Duane took a VMax for a test ride, but I'll wait for him to give a ride report on that one.  I took the new Valkyrie out for a test ride as well.  That was...
Wait, scratch that last bit.  I just dreamed that one last night.

Anyway, a good time was had by most, at least.

Nope, no test ride for Wizard.  We got there Saturday before 10, and the VMax rides were all "sold out" for the day.  We'd have had to be there by 8 a.m. this morning to dream of getting our shot at it.  We opted to not go down this morning, we're waiting for delivery in December of my own new VMax, we'll get to ride it whenever we want.

We did, however, get to sit on the new model, and settled our concerns about the seat height.  The height is definitely within my range, and that's all I needed to know.  That and the bike is more awesome in person than in the pictures I've been drooling over.

But don't worry, the Valks remain at the top of the list where they belong!!

Rocketman, Are you talking about the Honda DN-01? They look kinda cool in the pics; I was wondering how they would look in person.

Yeah, that's the one.
They've got something weird going on with the handlebars that you can't see in those pictures.  It's not repulsive, just kinda funky.

Sorry we missed you.  Yeah, that Ural looked pretty cool, but we just breezed by there, unfortunately.  I did see "two-wheel drive" posted.  Had me more than a little curious.

I'm still on the Vmax owners yahoo group...a bunch of them got there early.  None were not impressed about how every aspect of the bike was improved.  Its a hooligan of a bike though...won't wheelie because the back tire won't get enough grip TO wheelie.  Enjoy it.  If I had the room and the money, that would be my 2nd bike.

Got the call the other day, the bike should be in tomorrow or Thursday.  I suspect Thursday since that's the day we catch a plane to Ohio.

We'll ask if they'll leave it in the crate until we return, so we can see it from start to finish.

Getting impatient, I am.

Hey, because I'm such a friend, I'll go pick it up for you on Thursday.
Might even get it through that annoying break-in period, if you ask nicely.
