News at the hospital was pretty grim yesterday.  The tumor that they THOUGHT was not involving heart wall, is in fact, in the heart wall.  They still don't know WHAT it is.  They are planning a needle biopsy today.  Then we wait for pathology again.

Plan A is to do surgery and remove the tumor, and resect the heart.  Plan B, if they can't resect, will be to give her a mechanical heart, and put her on the transplant list.  Now the rub... if the tumor is malignant, then she will not be able to receive a transplant.

If you have a moment... please visit this website, and send Mom and Dad an E-Card.  She's really been enjoying them, and I have told her about all of her extended family in the VRCC asking about them, and sending prayers.  Just mention in it that you are a biker and know her uncle Jabba.

Mom and Dad are Maribeth and Mart.  That's NOT a typo.  His name is M A R T.

Thanks in advance!

Nothing makes my heart ache more then when a child is in the hospital.  There is nothing that can be said that will sooth the pain and suffering for either the parent or child.

If it is of any comfort, I’ve been there, I have felt the pain that you and your family are suffering through.  The sleepless nights, the fear of getting that 3 am call for yet another emergency surgery.  Sleeping on a bench outside of the O.R..  Praying to god or anything for some form of answer to the question “why”.  Blaming yourself for any chance that you might possibly be the cause of this pain.  All the “what if’s” or “what can I do?”.

Yeah, I’ve been there.  If there is any one thing I can say that might make the pain you are suffering a little less it would be that “ this will pass.”  Life is a roller coaster, and this is one of the scary parts of the ride so hold on, close your eyes if you have to.  Scream, kick the wall, cry, just don’t loose hope, no one knows the future, anything can happen at anytime, good or bad.  This is life.

Just signed the guestbook. It breaks my heart that little angel is going through this. I'll keep the prayers coming for her and all her family. I pray that your next post will have positive news.
