My son brought this home in his tire.  The large end was INSIDE the tire.  Not even sure what it is.

The hole was so big, I doubt that anyone else would have patched it.

 Shocked  Looks like one of those drop ceiling anchor screws.

That does not belong in a tire.
Suprisingly small pointy bones from road kill also do not belong in the tire tread.

My local Goodyear tire place that I've been going to for years has a scary collection of objects retrieved from tires.

Some of them make your whatsit minor by comparison.

that would make an interesting display on the wall of a tire shop "What We Find."
I remember having corrections officers show something similiar to high school students...it was also a box of what they'd pulled out...well never mind.

I dismounted a 10-20 truck tire once that had a large hole in the tread. Inside the tire was a full size, right angle tire iron.
