I just emailed a co-worker and asked:

Quote
am working on a film project looking at biker-films, that is films that employs motorcycles in significant roles to advance the plot. I am working mostly with American films (Easy Rider, Wild Hogs, The Wild One, etc) but I would like to be able to include international biker movies as well. In the attempt to look at international works I have recently picked up 2 Indian movies Dhoom (2004) and Dhoom 2: Back in Action (2006).  Both are fairly recent action films.  I am having trouble finding other biker-films. Do know of any other (especially older films) that use motorcycles in significant roles to advance the plot?

What an odd question to ask a math teacher. But I really need to know. Do any of you know? Do any of you have friends that might know. Oubviously movies that are available on DVD in the US are preferred. Actually movies that are available for check-out in the library for free are the best ones, but after that easy to get is a close second.

Try to find "The Fastest Indian". It was in video stores about a year ago and it's excellent!

The World's Fastest Indian - Trailerpowered by Aeva

I actually meant, Indian as in 'from India.'  Isn't our language wonderfully imprecise at times.

BTW I did enjoy "World's Fastest Indian." Dad has a copy of it. I want to plant a lemon tree every time I watch it.

Heroes- Hindi Movie Part 2/14 with English Subtitlespowered by Aeva

Here is a clip from a recent Indian movie (2008) entitled Heroes. The sub-title isn't very well done, but the idea is there. Oddly enough the word "heroes" is translated oddly in the third section and it is the title of the film.

Like most Americans my knowledge of foriegn films is limited, but I'm working on improving. So if ya'll have any suggestions please let me know.

An iconic film from Australia was STONE.
This film was more about the biker lifestyle and mateship, and was made during the Vietnam war, but still hold true today.

Stone is similiar to a lot of Biker Movies made here in the states where the motorcycle may not have been neccessary except to deliver them to the party, but that in itself seems to be a pattern. Stone is on the list. Haven't seen it yet. But I will.

You will like STONE even with the Auzzie lingo.
It even has a storyline, a little dated but still a good show.
Just wait until you see the old bikes, these were the ants pants in their day.

The funeral scene in the beginning was done with bikes that just turned up for nothing, average joes.

A couple of years ago they did 25th ann ride up the same stretch of road estimates had up to 10,000 bikes participating, more realistic estimates were about 5-7000.
It was a disaster, one bloke was killed and several hurt because the pleece didnt and wouldnt close the road and a tin lid cut off the bikes at one of the exits.

Its not about using the bikes to get to parties, it has an interesting story written around a cop who has to join the bikers to solve several murders of bikers, the end has quite a twist.
