Friend that we met in Maggie Valley and his son were riding a few days ago and a lady in the right lane decided to change lanes into theirs and his son has a badly broken wrist and other injuries.  She got out of her car and started looking at the damage to her car.  Said the GPS told her to turn left so she had to change lanes.  Sad

Good grief. Sometimes it's really scary to think how many people are out there driving around in cars and paying about as much attention as if they were rolling a shopping cart around.

One born every minute!  That's what happened to Swopie, guy decided to change lanes, saw the Mooner and I, but not him, so he said.

Glad they were not seriously hurt Terry. I'm sure this type of crap is on the rise. So much texting and phone calling, make-up, lighting a smoke, having breakfast in the front seat...it goes on and on. Distracted drivers have become such a major road hazard. Sometimes I feel like my head is on a swivel trying to take in the surrounding madness all around us.

Driving the cage the other day on the freeway in Austin I saw a car weaving about 50 yards behind me.  The woman driver couldn't keep it in her lane so I tried to put a little distance between us.  I caught up to traffic and she caught up with me.  There was an unmarked police car in the lane next to me and I was thinking about trying to get his attention but the cop looked like he was doing something else besides driving.  I got blocked in and the woman passed me on my left, but not without drifting over to the line between our lanes.  I gave her a little blast of the horn and noticed she was texting.  I had to exit soon after so I don't know what happened next with her, if the cop saw her or not.
