I'm still getting used to this engine vs. my v-twin, so this might be a simple question.  I've got MarkT's exhaust with 4" stacks.  I've been running with glass packs for the last couple months (when I bought the Valk).  I didn't notice anything before, but just yesterday I saw just a slight bit of blueing at the very tip of the exhaust on one side.  Just a tiny bit right around the rim of the stack.  The rest of the exhaust looks great.  Am I running too hot?  Is there anything specific/simple I need to check before becoming too concerned?  It's really not noticable, but if there could be a problem, I want to catch it right away.  Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

You might want to ask that on the Tech board as well... The wrenches hang out there  Cool

I've been running Mark-T's for about 2.5 years now and I've not had a problem... are you sure it's bluing and not exhaust residue?

Most likely causes for blueing pipes is a lean exhaust mixture.
Usually happens when changing pipes and not rejetting the carbs.

Actually no need to rejet for any of the glasspack conversions.  As long as you use the stock headers there is no problem.  You can blue the headers even though they are double walled by idling too long with the choke on.  Its unlikely that your exhaust will generate enough heat to blue the truck stacks.
