We're heading out before sun up on Monday.  Figured we'd make two easy days of it rather than one long one.  We're going to come up through Monument Valley, spend the night in Cortez.  Then take the back road through Lizard Head Pass and Telluride and up to Montrose, then US 50 to US 285.  See you guys on the road.

Pat,

My wife and I are leaving early Monday morning enroute to Frisco. Will overnight in Colorado somewhere and arrive on Tuesday afternoon sometime. See you when we get there.

Made it to Plainview tx.before the storms hit. It was actually a cool (compared to 100 plus degrees) day and a great ride. Tx Deb wanted to stop at the Llano Estacado winery for a tasting so we did. I'm a beer and bourbon guy so it didn't do much for me. Looking forward to a big time in Frisco.see Y"all in Frisco cooldude

RP,

Two years ago I rode all over Colorado and my most enjoyable highway was highway 65.  You will have to ride I-70 into Frisco but it is way worth the sacrifice.  Go North out of Montrose to Delta, East on 92 out of Delta and then Highway 65 is right there!!  It is an amazing road!!  I wanted to make a trip out their this time but the "loop" would be 9hrs by the time we get back to Frisco and that's just too much riding and doesn't make much time to hang out w/ everyone back at ground zero...

If you still choose your route to go east out of Montrose it is worth stopping at the Black Canyon.  It isn't too far east on highway 50 and then go north on highway 347.  Amazing view!!!

Anyhow...  Ride safe and enjoy the ride...  We'll see you in Frisco!!
