Hi Salty1 & Thespian,

Salty1, I see you're in Spokane, are you familiar with the group from there, I can't remember if they have a formal name, or it was just one we where throwing out and joking about?

Do you know the Valkyrie Riders in Seattle, the Vermin?
http://vermin-club.org/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=general

Then we have the VRCCA BC chapter.
http://www.boards2go.com/boards/board.cgi?user=VRCCBC

We've been getting together for a few years (I started in 2010 when I bought my Valk IS) for an annual gathering in New Denver BC, but this year and next we moved it to Post Falls (Spokane) Idaho. Hosted by the riders out in Spokane.

I took my ACE Tourer to the New Denver rides, since I wrote the IS off later in that year. This last June ride I rode my new to me 88' GW.

Salty1, my ridding is a little limited, that's why I'll trying some big rides. Wife mentioned this last group ride she didn't like missing Father's Day, for her dad, since he is almost 80 yrs old and we don't know how much longer he'll be around. I found that reasonable, so will only go on the M/C rides every second year if it stays on Father's day (the previous year we tried the week after, but rain was worse). So I'm currently looking at a 5 day ride on our July 1st Canada week.

I haven't gotten too many pictures of BC, camera doesn't work well while riding a V-twin, and haven't mounted the GoPro onto the GW yet, and am more interested in driving than stopping and taking pictures.

You can do a quick look up on Google maps, I was going to go up to Kelowna after work in Thursday, then Canmore AB, Hinton AB, Quesnel, and lastly Whistler. This puts me only 2 hours from home, so I can spend some leisure time there, and leave after lunch for home.

I've now ridden from Vancouver via Hwy 3 over to Creston. Some nice mountain roads, nothing overly hard. Also a nice ride from Merritt-Lytton-Lillooet-Pemberton for the Duffy Lake road ride, a popular (long) day ride from Vancouver, Hwy 99 to Lillooet and back via Hwy 1 Fraser Canyon.

I hope that answers some of your questions. If you don't know the people out in Spokane, I can get in touch with at least one of them, who should get you in with the rest.

Also the 2 boards I posted, will let you know some of the happenings in the PNW. Hope to see you in the future.

I know what you mean about stopping for pictures. I started wearing my camera around my neck so I could pull over and take a quick shot, and still ride past more beautiful scenery than I get shots of.

Well, the link is there for the web site. They meet monthly for food. They have a more active board than we do in the BC Chapter of VRCC.

I tried the first couple of years, making rides, contacting other Valk owners of the upcoming annual ride, but we don't seem to meet up to much together as Valk owners. We all have our own friends/groups we ride with, me included.

I remember I had this pic from CDL, Lake Coeur d'Alene, from June this year. Our fearless leader, now retired and his wife chatting with my wife.

And I believe an East looking view from the look out just before Vernon BC, looking towards Lumby and the route over to New Denver, where we had our annual get together.

It is a very nice secondary mountain type road. Over to the free Ferry ride over the Upper Arrow Lake, and then to the Nakusp. It's a shame it is an 8 hour ride just for me to get over to there and start a nice ride.

Oh, and my ACE Tourer, with my Valk IS trunk mounted on the back, along with the marine radio. Then there is another owners custom trailer. That is a car top, which flips open and he has a custom pop up tent in there.
