Try the Nokian WRG3 symmetrical tread in size 205-60/16 and report back.

Just talked to Hankook rep. He said the Hankook V-12 Evo would replace the k-106. Since liked the 106 and great mileage I may go that route at 85. bucks Tire Rack. Would pos. like to try a 60-65 instaed of 55, but i do have short legs. They only have 55 in v-12.

At least you've used a good front tire, Avon that is.   Grin    Obviously I'm  not a fan of the darkside.   angel

Me neither if I can get this milage from a bike tire. before and after shot.  20,000 and some change.  To each his own, though.  Hoser  Wink

I loved the hankook k-106!  cooldude Thru a belt in ND this yr. Now I have a General evertrek. Good tire but throws me in grooved concrete unless I 'under inflate' it. Getting something else this spring.

I was like you, went with a 55 cause in short. But no diff going to the 60 except for rpms. I wont go back to a 55. Its only 5 mm shorter tire so in reality only 2.5 mm shorter. I cant tell the diff.

I get mid 20k outta metz fronts.

They claim that tire has 11/32 tread..... and I don't think others even compare to that tread depth??  Or am I mistaken?

Got done yesterday with the new tires and the rear end maintenance. Also was able to get a 31 mile scuff in on the tires. That Nexen 5000 D/S rear is gonna need some more scuffin in. It breaks loose now too easy on dry road from a dead stop and W F O throttle.  2funny And I figured up the mileages I've gotten to this point in time with the choices I've made.
                                 FRONT                                                REAR
                       Elite 3 7508                                               Elite 3 7508
                       Metzler 880 14454                                  General Ultimax  17657
                       Shinko S E 890  13597                            Falken Ziex 512   23927
The E-3s came on the bike when I bought it. As long as I own this machine it will NEVER have another set of E-3s on it. Squirrely in the rain and never got comfortable in the twisties with them.
The Metzler 880 on the other hand is a fantastic tire. Rain-dry twisties I was ALWAYS comfortable on the Metz. The longer mileage I attribute to a faulty guage-it was reading 13-15 P S I light.
The Shinko S E 890 for me anywho wurx fine. I have another on the front right now. The first Shinko I M H O had maybe another grand in it but the new one had showed up and I figured W T H.
O-K I forgot the Dunlop D 404 130 90 17 at 13533. It cupped out as bad as the E 3s did. Prior to that it was doing one hell of a job. It MIGHT have been a 25000 mile front EXCEPT fer the cupping.
General Ultimax-also the victim of a faulty gauge. Liked it a lot. But I also like to experiment
Falken-IF this Nexen DO NOT make me happy i'll buy another Falken. The Falken went above and beyond as far as i'm concerned. People made mention of my Falken's condition at I-13 and I just changed it out. ALL my D/S tires have been/are 205 65 16. And i'm also back to stock size on the front. And before ya ask-YUPPERS I am a confirmed D/S rider.  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

I assume it is true.  Probly why it lasts so long.  It is a replacement tire for the Harley Branded oem tire on the 110 inch Harleys.  Hoser

Just adding to this thread not wanting to start anew. Got total of 120 miles on the Nexen 5000 and i'm liking it. At this point seems like a good replacement for the Falken Ziex 512. If it turns out to be otherwise i'll let ya'll know. You KNOW how shy and retiring I am.  2funny RIDE SAFE.
