15.5" is correct, and includes the little bit below the fairing chrome (mount).  If you go to the Clearview Windshield site, look under Valk Interstate, it gives OE height and shorter and longer.

Thanks,,,I am wanting one a little shorter than stock.

The one on my bike when I bought it is like 20"
I can't see over it unless I stand on the pegs.

A really nice shield is the Clearview Medium GT cut down a bit shorter than stock 15.5" (two inches wider than stock on each side). It costs more, but is a recurved shield that blocks/redirects wind better than flat shields of the same height.

Thanks Jess,,the clearview 13" is the one I have been looking at.
With the recurve design it should give as much wind protection as a stock 15".
Do you find this to be true?

I have not ordered one yet (cut-down Med GT), so I can only refer to the info in the link I posted.

But I'm going to.

I ordered a Clearview 13" with the recurve.
From what I have read the recurve at the top is like having another two or three inches in height.
Should receive it in about six weeks, will give a report on how well it keeps the bugs off.
