I did my own independent research and found that the Florida Chapter has more Today and Yesterday posts than any of the other Chapter boards. I just hope that doesn't mean we have to pay more of the rent. Of course I am part of that problem and I know it but I like to keep some topics on the board or people just get bored and don't come back.

Yeh, and at least it is 99% about motorcycles or stuff we do. No political or flaming others as on the main board.

Cut us some slack on the political stuff, will you? It's 20 F'in degrees here. We'd be talking motorcycles too if we could ride them. (I guess I see why they call you Grumpy )

We do have a longer riding season than most. I guess that's why we don't get those cabin fever problems. Oh and if any staff members read my post, we really appreciate all you do and the new board.

We are an active bunch here. There are a lot of Valk's in Florida. Many, many of us have been heading to a group event, meetup or just out riding around and run into other Valk riders that have never heard of the VRCC and the forum. Of course we spread the word! Quite a few end up joining the group. When we gather, and time is limited, we have so much bike and riding stuff to talk about that politics takes a far back seat for us, thus it doesn't even have time for us on the chapter board. Most of us are aware of the white stuff, low temps, and other daily issues that seasonally confront our northern brethren. As Grumpy mentioned, we'll be in the low temps here as the week progresses. In the middle of the southern riding season we are faced with torrential daily rains, extreme heat and lawn mowing, weed eating, etc....I think it balances out; kinda. In our summer it's not if your going to get wet but when.

One good thing about the cold weather is you can keep layering cloths till are warm or can't move which ever comes first. In the heat you can remove just so much before you start to frighten the neighbors.

Right you are James. The only thing that holds me back is that horrible "Four-Letter-Word" ....Work. (but work I must to have the bike and related accessories). I really admire the folks who post on this board. The topics are usually interesting to most of us, motorcycle related, new members joining in, folks asking questions about their machines, sharing their ups and downs. That's what friends do. I would be remiss in not mentioning the knowledge level of so many of the members on our little corner of the VRCC here in Florida. It truly blows my mind. I admit I'm not much of a "wrencher" and have relied on several of you for assistance from time to time, Bill and John to name a couple. Every time I attend a get together, I find myself talking to many of you like we are old friends who have known each other for years. I'm always a little sad that it has to end so early so we can all get home. I respect and admire all of you so much and feel honored and privileged to ride and socialize with all of you. I hardly spend any time on the General Board any more for the above stated reasons. I do browse the Tech board and the Classifieds on occasion but my interests are whats going on right here on this board. The name tags that Sherry brought were a great idea and really helped me put more names with "handles". This is a great bunch of folks hanging out right here. ..Now, about that mountain ride...More to come on that very soon.
