I saw your question about the BRP. I rode it sat from hwy 80 to hwy 70 in asheville. Here's the skinny.
It was open all the way both lanes.
However, there were sections where the potholes were horrific. No way to miss them all. Really.
And, from the signs and equipment I saw, I'd say during the week there will be sections that will be down to one lane 'cause they'll be working on the road.
Now the good news. The sections they have repaired are AWESOME. They didn't patch, they replaced. . And it was early enough there was no traffic.  cooldude
Hope that answers your question.

Great answer! I think this would be an awesome route:  http://tinyurl.com/nhrhq3

Have you ever  been on these roads between 40 and 9? I'm not even sure if they're paved  uglystupid2 ..
This route goes pretty near your neck of the woods, interested in coming along part of the way?

Best I can tell from the map and road names I've ridden 'em all except Sam Brown. Been on 178 from Rosman to Pickens and both the old fort roads. When you planning on riding that route ?

The route you have marked is paved. Watch for gravel in the turns.

I made that google route last week after I got back from riding the BRP up to just
west of I26, I live near  Sam Brown... I've been on all of those roads
except the BRP east of I26 and  "the old fort roads"... I tried to lure Frank Smoak up here with
that route, maybe he's too busy with work, ida know... anywho, I'm just motivated to ride that
"unridden" part of the BRP, and then get back to my neck of the woods some way that's
better than 221 through Rutherfordton.... Britman sez the "old fort roads" are gravelly... A non-weekend
day would make for less traffic on the BRP, though a lady in a mini-van tried to run me over at the
276 access last time I was there and it  was a Friday...

Intellicast.com says tomorrow (Tuesday) is the least likely day to hit rain this week  Wink

Yes, I forgot that part. Rode Old Fort Rd. from 9 to Old Fort yesterday. Most gravel I've seen on that road. Worse than memorial day Paul.
They were having a car show in Old Fort. I didn't have time to stop but did get a quick glimpse of some nice old rides.

My standard is in a shop in Asheville. Should be ready today or tomorrow (tuesday). You can bet when he calls, I'm gonna go get it. I know it'd be safe there but I like my motorcycles being at home.
So, unless I can get it today or he don't have it ready til weds. I won't be able to ride tuesday. I hope that makes sense. Maybe i'll know more by this evening.

No worries... I like to go on mid-week rides when possible, the nice places to ride aren't so crowded... if you want to hit some of those roads, let me know where
you'd want to meet and I'll ask google how long it will take me to get there... work takes precedence of course, but when there's nothing on fire it's
pretty easy to take leave at the last minute...

Is your bike at a Honda shop? I heard there was a good one in Asheville, owned by Doug Rudd - I went to High School with Doug...
Check the accessories rack for an old dusty one of these for me:  Grin
