Yes.
Look at the top of the engine. Is the pair valve in place ? Then it hasn't been. If the top of the engine is clean/bare then it has been.
Look on the back side of the intake runners. If all [ except #6] are capped, then it has been. If #3 and #4 have vacuum lines heading towards the center of the engine, then it has not.
If the exhaust tubes from #s 1,5,2,6 on top of the engine are removed or capped off then it has been. As well as #s 3,4 on bottom of engine.

There is a stealth desmog kit out there that might make the diagnosis more of a challenge.

That line is connected to the bottom of the airfilter box. Doesn't sound like you had much "dragon drool".  2funny

That line is a drain for the 'dragon drool'.
As you sit on the bike; #1 is right front, #5 right rear; #2 is left front, #6 left rear[petcock line].

My first desmog was with a redeye stealth kit and there was no way of telling ithe bike was modified. Later removed the whole pair system so I would have plenty of room to install a Dan Marc fuel shut off.

If you look thru shop talk, you'll find the best article ever written on desmog by our long time member Normand [Quexpress].

The deal with desmog..... it does not make the bike run better or more efficiently (so long as it's all in perfect shape), but all that vacuum hose eventually degrades and causes a degradation in engine performance, slowly (maybe unoticeably) over time, maybe some exhaust popping, maybe a failure in the OE petcock vacuum.  So about the time you start finding rotted/hard vacuum lines, rather than replacing it all, it's better to just remove it all.  Then it will never be a problem again.  The issue with OE smog parts is not miles, but age and environmental exposure.

This kit is spendy but I think the best for those of us who don't do well cobbling together stuff from auto parts and JB weld and rubber caps. Used one on each bike, along with a OE petcock rebuilds, valves reset, and carb synch, plugs and air filters.  Both bikes ran fine before all this, and both were like new afterwards. (80K and 60K)

Drain the drool tube every few months, and at oil changes.  And after any long distance rain riding.

I used Daryl's kit.  I like the fit of the blocking plates for the bottom of the heads.  The stainless plugs fit like a glove too...

One easy way to tell if it has had a full desmog is to look between the carbs....

If you can easily see through to the other side, them a lot of the Smog parts have been removed.... if its dark and full of stuff, then probably not.

The cheap route I took the first time was to remove the smog valves, plug the vacuum port and the airbox connection. I then used JB Weld in the ends of the six exhaust tubes. Just this spring I tried doing the 14mm or 9/16's freeze plug in one port. I plan to really finish the project right this winter.
