Our house was hit with a direct hit from Lightning July 10th.  Blew out all our electronics that were pluged in at the time.  Computers, two entertainment centers including flat screens and surround sound systems.  Sat. dish and convertor boxes, all the telephones and the wiring to the phone jacks.  Fax mach. and left a 14 inch hole in the North West corner of the house where it exited the house and ripped across the lawn and into a stand of mature hedge plants which it fried down to parade rest.  With any luck we should have everything up and runing by the end of the week if all the folks show up for their appointment as promised.  Been here since 1981 and thsi is the first time for a direct hit.  Had close call but this was scary.  At least I'm back on line.  One mone thing I can cross off the to-do list.

Were you home when it hit? I was a mile away when a house got hit and the sound and concussion from the strike was astounding.

We were both home (Wife and I)  when it hit.  Sounded like someone dropped a semi on the house.
