I took the 40 hour NW Motorcycle course in Renton, WA two weeks ago.
I have attached a video with my worst of 3 runs.  Needed to pass two.  3 min run is qualifying for police motor officers.  My third run was 2 min, 49 sec, clean, ie no cones touched.

1st run,  3min, 09sec,  6 sec penalty    total   3:15
2nd run  3min,  00 sec.   37 sec penalty total  3:37
3RD RUN  2 min, 49 sec,  NO penalties   Total 2:49

I was really happy with the 3rd run!  No first timer has run it in under 3 min.

Also had three other tests to pass.
1.  Figure 8 in 4 car parking spots, like in a store parking lot.
2.  40 mph stop in 62 feet, with  a quick escape around an obsticle
3.  30 mph cone weave, like avoiding an object in the road with quick counter steering.

Passed them all.

They are ex Police Special  Kawasaki KZ1000's.  Fairings are off.
I would like to get one, so could practice and thrash around, without risking my Valk!
Clutch is non hydraulic, and easier to control than the hydraulic clutch on the valk.  Used the clutch to control speed, not the throttle.

Thought it was a Kawi. I've seen the Blue Hawks of Knoxville Police Dept. do a Rodeo at the Honda Hoot on Harleys. Use the clutch and Rear brake for control. Would love to do one of those schools. Again Congrats.

Pretty cool - like he said how do you keep track of where you need to be when  Undecided

I did a modified version earlier this year  - just for FUN - a local policeman  police in the club gave us a taste of the police test - we only had 4 sets of obstacles and that got confusing  uglystupid2

Fortunetly it was for anyone who wanted to give it shot, not an actual test - I might have been able to do it on a smaller bike  Roll Eyes
