HELP. my 1998 standard suddenly started having issues with the turn signals.  When the front right signal is on the rear left signal as well as the brake light flashes and vice versa. I have checked the wiring and it is all the way it should be. Could there be some kind of relay involved?

Did you just have the rear fender section off ? It sounds like a rear connector problem.

Bad grounds can cause strange turn signal issues. Check bulbs, clean all plugs and check battery grounds.

There is a connector under the fender that the tire can hit and cause what you are describing. You can see it real easy with a flashlight. Worth the time to check out cooldude

Ground problems will cause all kinds of wierd stuff. Green wire is the ground check it at all bulbs or hook a new wire into the system and run to frame or battery post and se if it clears up.

He doesn't appear too concerned about this, but, the first place to look is the rear electrical connector at the rear fender section as mentioned. This problem is classic of a poor ground.

Yeah, another person signs up to ask his one question, then disappears without acknowledging people's help or showing he is putting in the effort to help troubleshoot his problem.
