Not quite sure who is riding up to the "Q in the Woods" from here in Orlando but I would like to meet up and ride up as a group if you guys want to. Any ideas? I was planning on going up the Eustis route (19, 452, 42, then the "number" streets) but I'm open for suggestions.

I would like to join you guys if that is ok, I just found out today, that I will have Saturday off.
I was communicating with Larue a couple of hours ago about riding up as a group.

Are you guys making the 10am ride or are you looking at the around noon time?

like Flrider said we were talking about going as a group,me, Flrider, and now indiandave, Jeff and hopefully John will be able to as well, i wont be able to make the 10 am ride due to family obligations, so anytime after 9, thats the best i can do but if you guys have to be there earlier for the ride then, i will just join you guys later.
So Jeff what about that gas station on fairbanks we met at a couple of times when riding up that way, not too far from john's house, but anything you guys agree on is fine by me.

Larue

I'll do the noon arrival with you, I have Saturday available so anytime is good for me.

May I suggest this route going up, but will go the way everyone wants to go.

http://goo.gl/maps/KTNd3

We could also make the Turkey Lake Service Plaza on the Turnpike a meeting place, it is on the Turnpike between I-4 and 429.

Let me know what you guys think or any other meeting place or route and we will make it happen  cooldude

I won't make the 10:00am ride through the forest, but looks like I can do the midday arrival with you guys. Larue, I believe that's a Hess station on the west side of I-4 @ Fairbanks exit. That would be a good spot to meet everyone else, then maybe hook up with Jeff on up the road on 441. I can't think of a good spot to meet him so have to wait and see what he says.

As for the route, going up 441 to 19 at Eustis, on up to 452 then to 183rd. Ave. Road. Should be a nice ride in the country going up, but might not want to do that coming back if it's near sundown. That's when the forest rats come out.

Hello, guys.  I may try to make it as well.  The 12:00 noon arrival time would be good for me too.  I live in Kissimmee fairly close to the Boggy Creek Road and 192 intersection.  I can meet at the Turnpike Service Plaza or at the gas station on Fairbanks, or anywhere else of your choosing.  I would just need to know where and the directions, if it is hard to find.  I know where the Turnpike Service Plaza is, but not sure what gas station on Fairbanks you are referring to.  Is it close to Skycraft?  Bert knows who I am.  I have the black 2000 Valk with the old Goldwing saddlebags.  I'm trying to get my friend, TC, another Valk rider, to come as well.

I live in Kissimmee and will be coming from Pleasant Hill Rd.

Not exactly sure where the Hess is but I am sure we will not any trouble finding it.

Let me know if you want to meet on 192, we can ride together to the Hess Station.

How about 10:00am kickstands up, meet at the Hess station, I'll try to be there about 9:30. Pretty sure that's what it is, and for Pageman it's easy to find. Take the Fairbanks exit off I-4 and go back under the interstate. First(only) station on the right. It's on the opposite side of I-4 from Skycraft. From there we can shoot over to 441 and head north. Hope to hear from Jeff as to where to hook up with him unless he wants to meet us there as in the past. And it would be great if TC would join us, I know him but haven't seen him since Hector was a pup.  Grin

I'm planning on bringing some stuff to eat so might have my trunk mounted to carry it.

OK, great!  Thanks for response, John.  I hope to see you at the Hess station on Fairbanks before 10:00 AM.  If I'm not there by 10:00 AM, I won't be able to make it.

Hey John, If you take 452 turn left on 42 West, then about 1 mile, there  is a caution light and a Store on the Right Called Brooks Buck & Doe, Turn Rt.,( North) onto  Forest Rd 8,Go to the End and turn Left, go about 1/2 miles and turn Right at the Church ,180th Ave Rd. ,go until you see a sign with a Side Road on it or a Y, this will be 183 rd ave rd., turn Right and go about 1-1/2 miles to S.E. 50th Street on the Left, turn onto S.E 50th Street and  we are the Light Green house on the Left.

Hope this is not Confusing but Jack's Directions are Right On with what I posted here.
We look Forward to seeing you all.

Central Florida - Eustis

« Reply #23 on: January 03, 2014, 08:27:58 AM »

There is a little better way to get up there (fun wise) if you want to just ride up to Umatilla on hwy 19 then West on Hwy 450 back to hwy 42. This is a back road with some great twisties that ends up  back on to the original route.
Since I am in Eustis already I can lead anyone who wants to go up that way. We will end up at the same place on 42 (Buck & Does) for the turn up into the forest.

Looks like I'll be riding up alone as Doug's wife is in the ER with some kind of upper respitory
infection. Not sure as of now, but if I don't hear from him tonight he won't be going.
Please send her some prayers and other good stuff. He really wanted to go on this ride.
Hang in there Doug and if you need ANYTHING let me know brother.

Hey guys. I had been thinking about whether I wanted to try and make it up from Wellington in time to go on the 10a ride. It's 253 miles from my house to Bert and Sherri's ... which means I'd have to leave before the ass crack of dawn and ride about 4 hours and THEN go on the ride. Not to sound like a pansy, but I'm thinkin' that might be a bit much and I'd be worn out the rest of the day so I figure maybe I'll just meet y'all at the Hess between 0930 and 1000 and ride up the rest of the way.

Just to make sure I have the right Hess... it's this one? http://goo.gl/maps/rwxC9

See y'all tomorrow.

Tex

P.S. Oh, and if y'all don't mind, someone get rid of that cold air. I'm from the tropical part of Florida and not used to that arctic weather you're having.  2funny

Tex..you have the right place. See you before 10.

Jeff K, if we leave at 10am sharp, we should be going through Mt Dora around 10:30..give or take 10 minutes. Maybe we should meet at Champions Powersport (http://www.championspowersports.com/) to regroup. It is on the north side of 441, just before you turn on 19.

Pappy, if you would like to lead us from there to Bert's that would be fabulous..love a new route.

Larue, John isn't going to make this ride with us, something has come up for him. Another friend of ours, Jim Malone, will be joining us.
