I have an Interstate and have added a fender brake light from a standard.
My question is,i have the whole wiring harness from the standard can i change out the interstate harness for the standard harness for the new brake light?
The Standard harness has the 3 plugs for the fender brake light where as the interstate does not will it be wired for the 3 plugs for the fender brake light on the motor end?
Hope you can understand what i'm trying to say.
 thanks,Robin

Hey Robin
As far as I remember when I installed mine it had plugs on the motor end. I can double check after dinner as my bike is on the lift and disassembled so I can replace the crash damaged parts. Call me if you need further help.        Cell number Nine seven three six seven zero four one three five.

Brrrrr it's cold. Just checked the bike,  there is no factory pigtail. On my interstate I spliced the wires for the tailight and my trailer lights under the right side cover and ran the wires to the back under the fender.

Nice talking with you and hope we can catch a ride soon

You can remove the 2 sections of wires from the IS and install the Std in it's place. But this will only make the fender tail lights work.

So for a Super Valk conversion, trunk removed, no big deal. But if you are adding on the extra tail light for added visibility, then you need to make some custom wiring.

I bought a Reese powered trailer light converter that works with normal and LED lights. I don't have a trailer yet, but I have plans for the converter anyway. I want to add a super bright tail light on the fender (I have the housing and LED panel already) and want to convert the trunk brake lights to brake/turn signals. I soldered the wires in when I had the trunk apart to install speakers, so I can connect the lights to the converter when I install it. And I have the plug for a trailer when I get one...
