Not the normal issue, my starter switch works fine. cooldude

I'm accustomed to blinking my headlamp at other drivers with this button, for various reasons (on my other Honda while moving and stopped). I know just how lightly to press it to blink the light off without engaging the starter if stopped in neutral or in gear with the clutch disengaged. I do it pretty often.

Not on the 99IS. It cuts ignition and that's a dramatic effect that I didn't expect, especially at speed.

Rather than finding a schematic and figuring out a work-around, I wondered if others had already solved this by adding an ignition relay that retains the kill switch  ?

I believe the headlamps are already on a relay on the IS, so I'm not looking to defeat that "headlamp off with starter" function to to get this feature. I don't want to add a switch either.

Thoughts?  Link?

No.  The starter button doesn't cut ignition when pressed while riding.  Not supposed to anyway.  It cuts the lights, and the in-gear interlock prevents the starter activating.  I use it all the time to flash the lights off, signalling radar trap or deer on road.  Mine's not an IS however. You need to do some troubleshooting with a wiring diagram and a tester. Unless IS owners pipe up and say it's wired that way.
