Somewhere in my memory bank, I recall a link to the repair sequence and diagram for fixing the sloppy rear turn signal stalks. Does anyone have that link?

Thanks in advance.

I am sure that if you get to the inside's you will find a way to tighten them up and most likely that would be from the bracket side as opposed to the light side.

Honda I am sure allowed for loosening and tightening the components.

Perhaps this is a little more helpful:

If you have a 97 - 99 (with two screws in the turn signal lens,) then #14 in the diagram below is the likely culprit:

If that doesn't work for you, on all models the turn signals attach to part #19 in the diagram below.

You'll need to take apart the rear turn signal assembly and get at #11 in this diagram, which screws into #19 in the fische above.

Valkpilot, I think you might have the wrong diagram shown.

Valkpilot, I think you might have the wrong diagram shown.

If you're referring to the 2nd one, it's confusing because it shows both the rear and front signal housings but only the front mounts.  The 1st diagram shows only the rear mount, but not the housings.

Not the blinker at all.   coolsmiley

You're right.  I'll edit my post.  What I was thinking of was the assembly on a 1997 - 1999 model where there is a screw on the back of the housing arm, #14 in the diagram below:

If he's got an early model, one with the two screws in the turn signal lens, this screw can come loose.   If that's not it, he's got to take the thing apart.

If your Valk is a 97 model there is still an active Honda recall that may help.
See you closest Honda Service department, they can order it and install it at NO cost to you.

I'm always amazed at the depth of knowledge of this group. Thanks all. The diagram gives me a peek inside and my scooter is a '97 Tourer, so I'll try that route as well. Must say that this would provide the opportunity to re-engineer the back end light/license plate setup that has always challenged my design style. I'd built a few custom Harleys over the years, so why not this simple re-design. Time will tell. Thanks again for the info.

For anyone interested, I finally found what I was looking for under the known problems tab; the very first one was the rear turn signal loosening and there is a PDF with all the diagrams necessary. It took about a 1/2 hour to tear down, diagnose and repair the sloppy left rear stalk and all is well.

What is number 6 and 7?  Is that the rubber part that holds the turn signal in place?  I need a new one for the right turn signal.  Does anyone know what this part is called and where I can find one?
