My local car dismantler called today to let me know he had gathered the set of the horns I was looking for, for the Valk.  A set of 4 note horns from a GM (Caddy or Buick).  MY question is Will the stock horn wiring be able to trigger the 2 relays needed for the 4 horns?  Or should I use a relay to trigger the 2 relays that power the horns???? 

Here's the sound of the new Horns.

I think relays live to be tripped by next to nothing, and that your horn wire could run
two relays with no problem...

Relay coils should pull minimum wattage. You would then run bigger wire through your contacts to the horns themselves. And fuse them----in case of a short.

Each pole of a decent size relay should be easily able to handle 2 horns(probably all 4) . You can pair em up to each contact and use one relay as suggested.

Hey Youngpup, drop in at the BIGBF.COM sight and take a look at the items you get when buying his quad set of horns.

Too damn cold to go out to the garage and look at MGM.

I have his horns on MGM, have had them on there for over 6 or 7 years.

Looks like he utilizes 1 relay.

When I got relays five or six years ago, several of them were heavy and seemed
to be made solidly. Now NAPA and Advance and AutoZone all have lightweight inexpensive
relays whose covers are just clipped on. I googled around looking at Bosch ones and stuff,
but you can just look at pictures online... what are some "good" relays...?

In all my looking, I got the idea that if you don't use the middle blade, four blade and
five blade relays are functionally equivalent... ?

Buick connects all four horns through a single 15A fuse.  One 30A relay is fine for all four horns.  Just use the original horn wire from the horn button to trigger the relay.  I did it and it works.  If you are going ahead with two relays, yes, the stock horn wiring/fusing is fine for the relay trigger.

When I had 4 fiam freeway blasters on my tourer(pre belly tank) I tested them on the bench.They pulled 17 amps,thats well below the limits of a 30 amp relay.www.delcity.net has some high quality relays,connectors,and shrink wrap for very good prices.

FYI, I just searched a large electronic component supplier's web site (Digikey in Canada), and the most current required to operate the coil of a 12V 30A or 40A automotive relay is 151mA.

 PUP , do not go cheap on a fuse holder. Get a screw together style that will withstand a V-twinkie. tickedoff (if possible)  A push together type will loosen and cause a high resistance , and early failure. Be sure to also tie the wires to prevent rubbing.
