Don't use denatured alcohol.
Make sure cylinder is full.
Squeeze lever.
Open bleeder.
Close bleeder.
Release lever.
Repeat until no air present in discharge.
After several times, refill cylinder. Do not let cylinder run dry.

Does the clutch lever pull feel normal, or does it feel soft?  If it feels normal it might be the cold temperature causing your symptom.  If the engine/transmission oil is cold, the clutch might not easily disengage because of the oil acting like syrupy glue between the clutch discs/plates.  Pulling in the clutch lever does not pull the discs/plates apart, but just releases the spring pressure holding them together.  See if forcefully rolling the bike back and forth with the clutch lever pulled in and the bike in gear will break it free.

One other thing:  If you are trying to turn the back wheel while the bike is up in the air and the rear shocks are not connected, allowing the back wheel to hang, you could simply be binding the u-joint.

What you can do is pull the clutch lever in and tie it there or use a zip tie and leave it there over night. This will allow the trapped air to work it way back up. Had that happen to mine and that cured the problem.

Don't knock Warlock's suggestion, it works.........   I've used it several times on various bikes.

Get some speed bleeders, makes bleeding all the hydraulic systems so much easier....and faster.

Get a Mitty Vac. Even one from HF. Get it on sale, and it's only like $25. Very useful device.

We just bought a Mitty Vac from O'Reilley's.     I think our cost on it was like $12.50.    I don't really remember, I ordered several items at the same time.

They delivered to the shop and of course, the Mitty Vac wasn't in the tub.

The driver went back and got one, this was Saturday, then today our original one showed up in the tub of parts for today.

Called the store and they said write up a return and put it with your other returns and we will get it.

We are about ready to switch parts suppliers.      I spend a full day each week writing up returns..        We have one store that gave us their parts inventory and their online catalog, like the store clerks use.   If we would sign on and use it we would get another 15% off of parts.    They say it is worth it to them to just fill our orders off of the printer.    If we need it now, we just add RUSH, otherwise if it is a replacemnt order, like air, gas & oil filters,  and misc items we use everyday.  They fill the tubs and at 4:00PM each day a couple of trucks take off delivering a lot of replacemnt parts.  They also say it reduces errors on orders by about 20% if we do the ordering.     I think they are trying to tell us their counter personel don't give a rat's ass and they just click a part and hope to hell we can use it.

Feb 1, 2014, we are going to try it for 90 days and go from there.

Patrick: I use denatured alcohol frequently to flush dirty hydraulic systems. I use a compressor driven vacuum bleeder from HF. No speed bleeders on any of my vehicles.
