Use the pipes you want, what others love or hate means nothing.  Truth be told, the stock pipes, unmodified, probly are the most comfy for riding than all the mods we have made.  Hoser  Wink

When I first bought my Valk, I had intended on putting on some Cobras because they sounded pretty nice in the Youtube clips I listened to.  After the quiet smoothness of my first 500 mile ride home, my mind was changed.  Stayed stock, but added triple tips.  I had a Road King with Thunderheaders, so I kind of feel like "been there done that" with loud pipes.  Since I've added a belly tank, Cobras aren't even an option anymore anyway.  I guess it's common knowledge that Cobra pipes make you lose HP, but if you like the look and sound maybe it's worth it.  For me it wasn't.

The Pro is that I have some that I just bought in pristine condition. Cheesy
The Con is that I have not install them yet. Sad

My Standard is pretty loud already. There are loud Jardines inside the TRUCK STACKS.
She sounds like a Mustang 5.0... I love it!

Frankly, I am curious about the sound that everyone talks about re 6 into 6's..
I've never heard the sound of 6 into 6's. Shocked Might anyone provide me a link on YouTube
where I can listen to them? Wink

Paxton, here's one of a guy going from stock to Cobra. There are a few more if you search for valkyrie cobra in youtube.

Contact Cobta for a set of baffles if you want to quiet it down, mine are cut down with Cobra baffles.  They are approximately 12 inches long, they eliminated the droning and "bark" of the Cobras.

I ride an '03 ZX-12R with stock exhaust as well, but the Valk sounds better to me w/Cobras.  It boils down to what makes you happy with the ride.

I like the cobras. Have run them on the last two Valks.  I actually have a set I'm willing to see leave my shop.  PM me.

Blessings,
