http://www.harborfreight.com/high-position-motorcycle-lift-99887.html   reviews are pretty good overall.  More expensive but being old I like the 30 inch lift capacity over the 18 of the others.  Anyone here have personal experience with this one?  And while on the subject of Harbor Freight has anyone got experience with their battery float charger? http://www.harborfreight.com/15-amp-three-stage-onboard-battery-charger-maintainer-99857.html  It gets mixed reviews.  Seems you cant leave it hooked to the battery if it's not plugged in without adding a diode since it will drain the battery.  Other than that not a lot of complaints and I would change the battery connectors so it would not be hooked up permanently. Yeah I know, Horror Freight, buyer beware.

Go to Amazon. Search for a CTEK 3300. I wouldn't use any other smart charger. The lift takes up too much garage space when not in use.

I looked at that lift in the store one time. WAY too much slack in all the joints. Would let the bike move around too much for my comfort. YMMV.

I'd rather get a lift table if I am going to take up too much room. At least you could park on it...

My concern with that lift is it would be hard to work on the side of the bike that is facing the jack and frame.

Regarding the Charger...

I use this model from Northern Tool -

http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200332201_200332201

Been using 3 of them for the past 5 or 6 years, and all I can say is WOW  cooldude

Has the ability to charge and maintain up to 4 batteries per unit (you need to make/buy an additional harness), and will actually bring an 'iffy' battery back to life.

I use one unit to keep 3 ATV batteries up to snuff (batteries can be left in the ATV, and a quick disconnect is used when hooking the unit up). I just made the harness long enough to reach the battery on each machine, when parked in my shed.  Another unit keeps my Valk battery, and my boat start and trolling motor batteries fresh over the winter.  Yet a third unit keeps the battery on my '91 Civic ready for summer.

Currently, about $50 each, but I've found them on sale for closer to $30, from time to time.

I notice in the reviews that it will also discharge the battery if left connected without power.  Really odd. But like I said I earlier that's not going to be a problem the way I anticipate using it.

Didn't consider that, thanks, good point.

Thanks, wonder if this one does that same battery discharge trick.

Guess I'll just get the yellow HF lift.  It's generally marked down and I do have a 20% off coupon.

Unless you had a power failure, and the unit was plugged in (maybe to multiple batteries), I don't understand where keeping a small led lit would be a major 'discharge' concern...  Multiple 12 volt batteries would keep each other charged  Wink

Never had an issue with this unit.
