And I don't like being called a Yankee .I guess I am geographically, but that's as far as it goes.
You're safe, Jabba. Sure, geographically you were once a Yankee, but then some people used to consider Indiana as "midwest", too. To those folks, I say, "it isn't 1861 any longer and we actually have roads over the Mississippi River now.. look at a map" ps: since it was based on the Mason-Dixon line, drawn based on the legality of slavery, we Kansans would've been considered yankees, too. pps: GOTF.. hellz ya!

I am definitely hoping to make it this year, depending on weather, either by bike or by flying, or a combination of both at least for one of us been too long for a long ride and good friends...no tickets and no flat tires or snow storms or tornadoes on the way back would be nice this time! I might make the trip down from Colorado. I have been wanting to ride West Texas and this just might be the excuse I need to make the ride. I will see if I can get a group ride together and maybe have a bunch or Colorad'ins crash the party. Thanks for the heads up.

So looking forward to seeing many old friends again.
Such a long drive for me too. Must be at least 20 miles.
Mark, I plan on being out to help with setting up. Holler whenever you need some help.

Ponderin' on it... I ain't been in a while, and I'm overdue fer some 'Q' of the Texas variety. Sure would be good to see some old friends, too... PIBIT, I ain't seen you in a coon's age, amigo... proud you'll prolly make it this time!!! RJ, hope that new contraption works out and we can jaw some with you, as well... HG and FB, I miss y'all, and I'd really like to see ya again. Strider! Man, what can I say? If I end up spending the night in Lafayette on the way out yonder, I'll try to hook up with you fer some din-din or sumthin'... WOW! This is starting to sound like a 'Don't Miss' event of the first order! Wizzard, Earlybird, Mase, Misfit, man this list is growing into something unavoidable... Oss is hinting that he may swing down through these parts on his way to the Spring Gala, so I might wind up trying to follow him out there... who knows? Wouldn't it be nice if Moonshine showed up with some nanner puddin'?
Any word/info/suggestion on a motel to use?

hg will hook us up with a motel soon. I was trying to remember when we saw each other last Bruce. I guess if it's been so long ago that I can't remember then it's definitely time so meet up again. Maybe Tucumcarri? Anyway I hope to see you there. It looks like maybe once in Texas and then again in North Carolina. Whoo-Hoo must be livin right.

Hell's Bell's, I went a couple of times and then got grounded, O2, ya know.
I'm trying again this year to make it.
My little sweetheart at the O2 supply place is going to fix me up with a portable concentrator, runs on battery, car battery, or 120v. That will handle my C-Pap when a sleepin, and my driving to and from. All we got to work out now is how many little rechargeable tanks I'll need. Since I won't have a unit to recharge them. Those would be for walkin here and there, standing around shootin da sheet, and settin on a chair outside the room cussin & discussin tires, oil, motors and etc.
Figure at the Bubba Que, Mark (Hotglue) will let me plug in some where and then I'll park my arse. People want to see me, or talk to me, day got to come to me and set a spell.
I got all my bones crossed hoping it will workout. Will try for late evening Friday, all day Saturday and head for home on Sunday bright and early.
Wish me luck, and don't tell the ferkin Dr. on me for going past my 150 mile radius. What he doesn't know won't hurt him and I've had mucho better a$$ eatins than he can give.

See if your little sweetheart can check on places in Houston that has those tanks or can recharge them. Houston is a pretty stinkin' big city and they might have some of the same stuff as Des Moines. Wouldn't be a bad thing as a backup in any case. IMHO. RainMaker

Wouldn't be a bad thing as a backup in any case. IMHO. RainMaker Rainmaker, my O2 supplier does not have a connection with Houston or Dallas. The closest one is in New Orleans. And I sure as hell ain't goin down there for service. I think she told me there was like 15 different loops that the O2 suppliers can and do connect with. If I went to Houston, I'd have to trade my tanks in, get theirs, and then try to trade back with them to get mine back home. OPh, and they are not open on Sunday. Went through that hassle coming from California to Iowa one year. They supplied me with a O2 tank that was supposed to get me to Denver and then get a replacement there. Somewhere about midway in flight my tank run dry. I set and wheezed to Denver. Got to Denver and they had no record of having to supply a tank. It was kind of like tough crap partner, not our problem. United came up with a tank to get me to Des Moines, and my supplier met the plane with a fresh tank to get on home. So, I do not trust suppliers other than my own here in town, anymore, and I can only be without O2 for maybve 8 hours if I'm not active, if active, 4 hours. I learned in the Marine Corps, if ya don't have a needed supply you improvise. So that is what I'm attempting to do now.

Is anyone else dreaming of Q yet?
and PIE? (Please tell me Lori will be baking pies again)
and Nanner Pudding sounds most excellent plus be terrific to see Bird and Moonshine again after so long
Sure hope it stops snowing before March 25th and that potholes get filled.
If past years are any indication of road surfaces I will definitely head south before heading west.
See y'all soon
