A few of us are riding down to Victoria for lunch on Friday, assuming the weather holds up (we cancel if it snows again!!).  Anyone interested in joining us, let me know.  Will post a meeting place and time tomorrow.

It'll make a good break for folks who are tired of Christmas shopping, etc.

As of now, tentative plans are back roads to El Campo area and BBQ for lunch, then on to Katy area to check out a Valkyrie trike Vern is thinking seriously about buying.

He will be riding with us tomorrow.

Meet up at Shell station on SE corner of Hiway 288 and Hiway 6.  Kickstands up at 9:00

So, inquiring (and annoyed at being stuck at work all day) minds want to know:
How'd it go?

Good ride.  About 225 miles.  Wizard is so happy with his new Ultimate seat!!

The Max rode well, but I chose the wrong helmet .... I grabbed my Scorpion half helmet, and spent the first 100 miles fighting the wind for my helmet.  It was riding on the back of my head, strangling me and putting excessive pressure on my neck - the same neck that my chiropractor first recommended I NOT wear a helmet in order to protect said neck.

Finally, pulled over and strapped helmet on back of Wizard's bike, and it was like riding a brand new bike.  Wait, it WAS a brand new  bike!  There are now 253 miles on the odometer, and I learned several things that will be good to know.

The bike has a 4 gallon gas tank.  The low fuel light came on with around 85 miles on the tank.  When the low fuel light comes on, the bike automatically opens a Fuel Trip set, and starts recording the miles since the light came on - very reassuring to know how far you've ridden since that warning.  I filled up with 3.01 gallons, so there's apparently a 1 gallon reserve.  Handy to know.

The bike got some attention at one gas station, a UPS driver was surprised to see it, he has a friend who has been waiting on one.  He found it reassuring to see that they actually are being delivered.

Sorry you couldn't make it.  We had a good time anyway.
