I hate to ask you to type Bill but was sitting here wondering how you are getting along. I haven't seen you post in awhile. We all hope you are recovering at maximum speed. Any updates? Thanks.

Got a few more fingers free. Broken toes are well enough I can take short walks now. Fingers & hands are still pretty screwed up, took all the stitches out last week, but back in casts again. still have 6 pins in the wrist and fingers, have  nine screws in the left hand that are permanent. Doc says i am healing ok, the pins and casts will be removed in about  10 days, then lots of therapy to get the joints working. Road rash is about 50% healed. I guess I am fortunate, it could have been a lot worse. But one thing, I really appreciate all the good thoughts and messages and cards I have received. Really helps keep the spirits up. Believe me I was really in the dumps the first week after the crash, all the calls and visits really helped. And on a different note, my wife is convinced I am nuts, I bought another Valk today, they are going to drop it off Monday. Nothing real fancy, but a real nice standard, some thing to ride while I work on getting a trike to keep the wife happy.

Good to hear you're healing, I know it's going to be a long road ahead. So....mama wants you on a trike, eh?  Wink  I'm kinda getting the same rub at my house, then I point out the ~$9k price for a Roadsmith kit. Maybe if I pick up a couple Lotto tickets......  Grin

When you get around to it, take a couple shots of the "new" Std. so we can see it. Another thought.....even though the frame is shot on the I/S, how about the rest; bags, seat, trunk, etc.? I saw the fairing/front end in general is a goner but wondering if the rest could be moved to a replacement frame from Pinwall or similar outfit. Might be a less expensive approach....just a thought.

As you say the front is toast, wheels, forks covers, engine are ok, seats are fine. bags have some rash, but repairable. trunk has a small rash spot, arm rest saved it, but they are ground down. Thinking about repairing the bags and using them on the standard. Still up in the air on the rest, but for now just going to store it until I can decide what to do. God forbid, even looking at a wing trike, time will tell. I will post some pics of the standard after I get it Monday, have some extras with it I will probably sell. Jardine exhaust etc. Another thing I have been pondering is a side car, should be a lot cheaper.

Glad to hear you're on the mend, Bill -- God must have had you under his protection, and we're keeping you in our prayers.

BTW, have you had any thoughts on selling your single-wheeled trailer?

Hope to chat with you soon --- take care!

There is nothing wrong with a GW Trike in my opinion Bill. I have 2 friends with those, have ridden them both, and they are so nice to ride..plus REVERSE!! Side cars have always intrigued me too. Have no experience with those. Always seemed unstable to me. You have the luxury of time though. Congratulations on the new Standard. Red and Black? Glad to hear you are up and out some and healing well. We all hope to be riding with you again soon. Keep us posted!!

It's good to hear you are improving Bill. Have you figured out what caused you to go down? If it's been said in another thread I apologize. Work has been real busy and I have not spent much time on the board. Embarrassed

I'm sure whatever you decide to do to your new STD it will end up looking great like everything you do. Just don't overdue things and heal a little more before you tackle too much.

Good to hear you are healing up nicely.  Still saying prayers for ya every morning.

Actually both of us are in the prayers.

Me thanking God for another day above ground and for you to heal up with no complications.

If ya decide on a Trike, get a Wing as then you will have Reverse.   I triked out MGM, and now I'm kicking my ass cause I didn't sell him and buy a Wing Trike.

At least MGM will stay with me till I croak and then either my son or my daughter get him and the other one gets the Chevy Trike.

Good to hear the healing is going well!  Once you hit therapy, do what they ask of you and make sure you do whatever exercises they prescribe...it will go a long way to helping you regain your mobility and strength!

If I were you I'd look really hard at a hack before a trike setup...

Rest and Heal up!

It's good to hear from you Bill. Glad the healing is moving along.

A new scoot. That sounds good, can't wait to see the pics when it's delivered on Monday.

Gods speed with your healing process.
