They dropped of the bike today, great runner, new tires, extra Exhaust system I believe it ,is a Jardine setup, real short mufflers. Also has baker air wings and hand guards. Needs a real good cleaning, but good place to start. Will be while before I can get to work on it, have a couple projects to complete as soon as I get my hands back, then I will start stripping the IS, wheels etc and put them on the standard.  And the bonus was it was cheap!, leaves some funds for bling. Yep, and bought it for $1600 less than the original price. And they even delivered it.

And now that you have a good place to begin, Bill, the real fun begins. It'll be good to watch what the artist does with a new canvas, or how the sculptor molds new clay. Way cool.

Cool, yet another Standard to Tourer in the Florida group using Interstate bags cooldude
I think Eddie put Interstate bags on his Black & Silver, as well as Larue and myself. I like them because they do not interfere with my seat rail.

Going to be a project for sure, both will be stripped down completely, then start building the standard. Probably will be next month before I can start on them, have other stuff I have to finish first. I need to find a solo rack and some other stuff for the standard.

Yep, that's what I did on the '99. I converted the I/S lids to open like a Tourer because I don't want a trunk. All Bill has to do is repair the damage & convert the rear of his Std. to an I/S. He could leave the Std. tail lamp on for extra lighting. I think Rick {Flask} added the Std. lamp to his I/S, it looks good.
I think that would look really good with a nice batwing fairing. I've personally never liked the way the pods look on the I/S models. Bill has put so many miles on his I/S with that big fairing so I'm sure he will miss the wind protection of a full fairing if he didn't add one.  Wink
Regardless of what Bill chooses to do with his new ride, it will be top notch as usual!! cooldude

Hey, Grumpy;
What kind of support or hardware is needed to securely install those "Leatherlike" Saddle Bags on my Standard?  ???
I have a used set off a HD somewhere in a box but never got to try mounting them on the Valk. Embarrassed
